You got what you deserved for being an anti social !!!!.

Pavement = pedestrians, road = cars

Why are you blocking access to the pavement for people such
    wheelchair users?

There's no reason to do it on that bit of road, more than enough
space for cars to be parked on either side with space for others
    to pass.

Really, the inconsideration of car drivers is staggering

There was plenty of room for a wheelchair or pram to get past

That pic is from google street view

The day it happened there where cars parked both sides of the road, all with 2 wheels on the pavement, if you parked full on the road, it would have been blocked the road as cars go up and down super regular.

Dont even speak to the guy. He is wrong, you have done nothing (much). He is a bull pooper and is trying to mitigate his incompetence.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

The hire car will come with a contract saying if the other insurer wont pay you do !
If they charge more than a local hire car, you can not sue for it back as well.
Lots of people have been heavily stung with this "free hire car" read what yiu sign in full, even if takes a few days before signing it, the words you are looking for are "dispute" and "indemnity"

You can buy a cover with Albany for an extra £30 that means even if they cannot recover the costs you do not have to pay.

    "He couldn't see that car"!

Given that shade of yellow how could anyone not see that car! This is the most ridiculous excuse ever.

As others have said, the fact that you were parked on the pavement doesn't matter for insurance purposes. Hell even speeding doesn't always matter. If you had been fully on the road he would still have hit your car in any case.
