Given that 084 and 087 numbers are now banned for customer services, financial services and public services and given that most organisations have complied, there are now only a few occasions where the number translation element of the service will be required. Always make sure you are calling numbers found on the official website of whoever you are trying to contact. Most times, the number will start 01, 02, 03 or 080.

It is very likely they are completely unaware just how expensive it is to call premium rate numbers starting 084 or 087. Get them to read this:

The whole thing is crowd-sourced. Anyone who finds an incorrect number should report it in the sayNOto0870 forum. Likewise for anyone who finds a new alternative number or can confirm whether any of the 'unverified' listings are correct or not.

However, as usage of 084 and 087 numbers is now in terminal decline, there should be very few occasions where the app is needed. Always check the official website of who you are calling. Chances are they now use an 01, 02, 03, or 080 number.

Hi,

So for whatever reason I had to use a callcentre. Its been the first time I've used the app to save myself some $$$. I was wondering it its indeed true that the app has to be running in the forgeround and hence you cannot be using your phone while you wait. The only thing you can be doing on the app while its in operation is watching the counter of minutes of Queue Time.

To put this matter in simple terms, can WeQ4U run in the background or not??

Who were you trying to call, what was the number, and where was the number mentioned? Usage of premium rate 084 and 087 numbers is now banned for most purposes.

Be aware that hundreds of scam websites promote fake premium rate 084, 087 or 09 numbers that purport to "connect to" various organisations. Avoid this scam by looking on official websites for current numbers.
