MSE News: Compensation for flight delays moves closer

Would it be possible, for a bloody minded person, to pursue a private prosecution against an airline, once the airline has found to be at fault, just to get them fined?

just got a cheque from Thomas Cook for £1042.00 for flight delay.
booked a new holiday and to think the delay was in 2008 im shocked at how easy and trouble free they paid out and when it happend they dragged feet for a 60.00 compensation delay claim. thanks MSE been a bonus.

Hi all
We booked to Malaga and return in july/august 2013 we were delayed over 4 hours going and 5 hours coming back. The airline have recently replied saying we are not due any compensation because the used a charter flight and it was them that didn't deliver? Is this correct please.

What were your flight numbers? You can find them on flightstats if you know your exact dates and route.
