Hi I am finally going to replace my CRT monitor.
I am looking for an LED as these seem to use less energy and are slightly greener to produce / recycle than LCD (based on the little I have read).
I am looking for 19" - 22" and a good deal for an at least reasonable quality one, anyone know of any current deals or have a recommendation of which monitor or where to look?
Thankyou

Too big for your requirements, but I'm very pleased with the price, build- and picture-quality of my 24" LED-lit BenQ G2420HDBL. Maybe they have an equivalent model in a smaller size...?
Anyway, the only downsides to it are the limited adjustability of the stand (you can get a third-party stand or put it on a block of wood to adjust the height as I have), and I don't think colour-accuracy is particularly great. For watching videos, looking at photos and office use it's fine, but probably a bit of an issue if you need to edit photos professionally...0 -
Eventually I bought THIS BENQ . Note no HDMI.
Spud, thats a LCD monitor (and a very good one at that), the LED equivalent is the BenQ BL2201PT.
Vulture, Benq have been doing great things at the economy end. ViewSonic I used to use at their top-end, and were good. The model suggested by Tangefoot, I wasn't aware of, as Viewonic had gone off the boil, maybe this represents their resurgence?0 -

Tanglefoot, , just for the record, and respectfully, the Beng BL2201pt is a LED monitor (unless of course our definitions of LED differ?) http://benq.co.uk/products/LCD/index.cfm/product/1213Benq wrote:LED Backlight for a Cleaner WorldWith global warming worsening, it’s even more important to help businesses save energy and avoid pollution. The BenQ BL2201PT adopts mercury-free, power-saving LED backlight panel to reduce harmful CO2 emissions while increasing brightness and display lifespan – keeping precious water sources free of pollution during the manufacturing and recycling process0 -

You really want a LED display? Get a JumboTron.
Hell this is confusing - does this post help the OP???? I thought the OP wanted LED suggestions as generally understood - so by Tangefoot's suggestion, is the ViewSonic VX2336s not a LED, or is it? Or are we just splitting hairs?
Incidentally I own a Benq BL2201PT, and am happy with the price/performance.
Hope it helps.....0 -

Perhaps then we should wait until vulture confirms whether he/she is looking to buy an LED backlit monitor or the full works?Move along, nothing to see.0
