Thru-out Primary school, my son would have wrecked his school shoes around this time of year and I'd be exactly like you not wanting to buy another yet because his feet might have grown by September. I was always able to get shoe looking trainers to see the last few weeks thru and then he used them during the summer hols. I'll have either bought them at Brantano or Clarks Outlet.YORKSHIRELASS wrote: »I cant decide whether to get my youngest son some new school shoes now, he will need them in September anyway. Not sure if this is a bit risky though as his feet might grow.
Something like these are example of what I mean.

We have used this company several times and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
You can buy some lovely outfits from about £20 or hire a smart boy's suit including shirt, tie etc for about £12.

There is a clearance section too with a few lovely outfits.0 -
Having looked around online and thought about what the kids have already I think the slightly more casual look is going to be the best option. The problem with anything really smart is that I have got to buy them both shoes which may not fit in September when they go back to school.
They have both got decent trainers for the summer but they are too casual for a wedding. If I went for chinos and a shirt they could just wear canvas pumps.
We havent been to a wedding for quite a while so its good to know that the slightly more casual look would be OK and hopefully they wont be the only kids not in a suit!
Really appreciate all your help thank you.0 -
Re: Charity shops- I found that the shops in what some people regard as more affluent or "posh" can sometimes have better pickings- for example when I worked in Harrogate the shops there had some cracking stuff in them0

charity shops are hit and miss so it helps if you keep checking them on a regular basis too.0

Yorkshire lass get a size bigger and stuff the toes with tissue for the formal part of the wedding and the photographs, once they get to the reception change them into their trainers, you can then put their shoes away for September. Changing in to trainers happens a lot at weddings and taking good shoes off as the night goes on, so it would not be unusual. My mum always stuffed our "good shoes" to get a longer time out of them.0
