You appear to be using a CD that is booting into DOS. Try typing 'dir' then press Return (no quotes) and it should give you a directory of what is on the CD.
Im not sure where Sony hide the recovery partition but to chage drive just type the letter. Ie 'c:' will change to drive C which is probably your Windows partition.
Where did you get the ultimate recovery cd?'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Not sure what you are trying to achieve, or what disk you have but try
dir /pEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
i was just wanting to run the disk i was given...ultimate recovery multi lingual. thought it would auto run on insertion, so was wondering how to run it. there was only one exe folder titled wwbmu so tried that and it was in norwegian so now in process of downloading, ubcd? if this one doesnt work also what are my options.???0

Are you wanting to save the data, or happy to wipe it? Don't know which model you have, but some use F10 at boot to get into the recovery partition.
If and when you get it working, consider getting a copy of Norton ghost or acronis trueimage, and backup to DVD, so you can restore it easily in future, and keep your data/programs/settings intact.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
am not bothered now about recovering any data already on computer, just want to get it back up and running.ive tried the downloaded ubcd win boot disk and again this does not work the only file on it thats exe is wwbmu again its in deutch. so cant understand any of the instructions?? f10 doesnt work either....just goes thru to the blue screen with fatal system error0
