hello all...
major drama tonight....i restarted my computer earlier on tonight and it wouldnt re boot backup. it kept stopping on the blue screen of death and displaying the following message....STOP: c000021a (Fatal system error)
the session manager initialiazation system process terminated unexpectedly with a statu of 0xc000034 (0x000000000 0x0000000).
the system has been shut down...........aghhhhhhhhh.
so ive tried using the options after pressing the f8 key and going thru all the different modes and each one comes up with the same blue screen...ive also tried the f2 button and gone thru them options but to no avail.
i recently installed a duplicate file cleaner and ran that so i presume ive deleted some important startup file..... any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated...i have no back up disks either.?
i once had the blue screen of death before and got around the problem by doing a total system reboot...but cant seem to find those options to allow me to do this???
many thanks in advance

If you have the Windows CD then try doing a repair.Always looking for a bargain and to help0
-
If it's XP, reboot with the XP install cd in the drive (drive needs to be bootable in bios), select Repair from menu and when dos prompt appears type chkdsk and hit enter.0

hi its with xp, but dont have any disks whatsoever...could i download them onto a memory stick or onto a cd from the windows website?
i have a sony vaio laptop.0 -
Did you buy the pc without a Windows cd ? If so then you probably have a hidden restore partition on your computer, reboot and keep an eye on the text that appears on screen, there should be a menu choice at some point. Which model exactly do you have ?
You may find the answer on the Sony website.0 -
yeah ive used that hidden restore before i just dont know how to get to it and initiate it again.... sony vaio vgn-b1vp0

You could really do with an XP cd, can you borrow one for a short while ? Perhaps Sony can supply you with a copy.
