Yes, yes, lounge next week please!!! Mine is horrible, Natasha has thrown up on the carpet about 30 times, and as I've cleaned it up, it has left clean patches on the carpet! I've just persuaded my Mum to lend me her Vax carpet washer thingy - if that doesn't help, I will have to buy a really huge rug.

PS - Has anyone noticed that Ronan Keating is morphing into Sting??

    Of course washing up counts!!

Morning all, another busy day ahead -kids skiing first thing, but I have to nip back to see a client, then go back, pick the kids up, get DD to her friends for a sleepover, get DS home, lunched and then be back for work at 1 through to this evening.....

Oh well, no opportunity to spend money in all of that, so has to be very DFW!!

I hope you all have a good day!!

  • Ian Waite, Pania??? Well, each to their own!! Got to say it's brendan that does it for me and I have no clue why - I can see he's not that good looking, a bit slimy, creepy and bad tempered but when I watch him dance, mmmm!!!!

With you on the Richard Hammond thing though!
  • Just caught up on a couple of days postings! Crikey, you lot have been busy on the housework whilst I've been away, now it's my turn to start:eek: .

By having 'lived-in' homes you are teaching your children very good lessons for the future. Trust me on this;) . When we were growing up my Mum was the most house-proud person ever. Tidying and cleaning went on 24/7:eek: . We weren't allowed to have a thing out of place in our bedrooms, everything was stashed away in cupboards and wardrobes, there was nothing personal visible to indicate that anyone actually used the rooms. If I was in the lounge reading a book(as I seemed to do a lot in my 'sad' teenage years) and left it on the sofa for a few minutes to go to the toilet or something, I'd come back to find it put back in the bookcase or wherever:eek: . I think that's why I'm a housework-!!!!!! nowadays, and my siblings are just the same. Rebellion against the past! Your children will probably all grow up to be naturally tidy and houseproud:j .

Once, about 3 years after we married, my Mum came to stay for the weekend.I was on a fortnight's holiday leave at the time. I'd spent every minute I could spare during the previous week cleaning and tidying and, although I said it myself, the house was in showroom condition. I was well-chuffed and vowed to keep it that way:rolleyes: . She'd been here about an hour and I went in the kitchen to start on dinner and I saw her in the hallway dusting and polishing my supposedly perfect surfaces. When I asked her what she was doing she said "I know you must find it hard to keep the house nice with going out to work so I thought I'd help you to get on top of things whilst I'm here".

As soon as she'd gone:j I reverted to comfortable chaos. I love this thread as it makes me feel I'm not a freak and I'm certainly not alone.

Sorry to hi-jack, I just needed to get all that off my chest:o . Now, does anyone know a good, cheap, Psychotherapist?????

Have a great weekend Hypno and all

HA HA - I am a psychotherapist :rotfl: honestly, I have certificates on my wall and everything :rotfl:

So.....what does that say about me.....probably need more therapy than most......take a spoonful of my own medicine or something!!!

My house is a long way from tidy. Sadly though it is a long way from even comfortable. I don't ever expect realistically to have a showroom condition house - but just to be able to sit down at the end of a long day/week and be able to not move things first would be heaven!!

Could go either way. Our house was always a tip when I was growing up...and I mean a tip ie wouldn't invite anyone in and EVERYTHING got lost. 20 years later, I like everything in the right place and my sister's house could very easily feature on that Kim and Aggie show.

Maye it's all down to personality?
