Oy vey........ the very thought of having to keep my eyes open, when I'm tired the way you sound like you're tired right now....... awful. Hope you've got enough of a second wind to get through the evening and able to sleep tonight.

Hi GTD! Hope you had a good time!

KC, yes, I am glad I went out this evening, otherwise I would just have felt drowsy! The children all went skating and I sat and had a coffee (OH was working there so he made me one from the staff room so I didn't have to pay!).

Then I decided to use my birthday money to all have a meal out- a very rare treat. We went to Wagamamas, had the cheapest things on the menu, and one soft drink each only, and as a result had a fantastic meal, at a place we have never been before, for a very surprisingly reasonable price!! It really made up for the lack of birthday-ness of Friday.

Just got home, kids showered and ready for bed, and all watching Top Gear. Nice evening all round so far, and boy, did we need that !!

What has hit me though is the realisation that we can have a really nice meal out, without it costing the earth, and because we kept it for a special occasion (in this case, my birthday, coupled with having a house guest) we didn't take it for granted in the way we used to, so we enjoyed it all the more. Plus, I paid real money for it, not using a credit card.

So being sensible doesn't mean we will never eat out again.....but it does mean that we will enjoy it so much more than perhaps we used to :T

OH Hypno..so glad you had a lovely family meal together and for a reasonable price...we went out on thursday to one of those two for one pubs and that ended up being reasonable as well..it's true that we appreciate it a lot more for not doing it often...a treat is lovely especially when paid with cash...hope you enjoy the rest of your evening..take care xx

The rest of the evening will be very short - I am tired and will be getting an early night! Off to the uni tomorrow and although the job itself is not a difficult one, it is a long day and can be a bit boring which is not good if I am already tired!!

I can't wait to start the new job........I am looking forward to it immensely. I have put the figures into Martin's budget planner and it gives me so much optimism, that I am already starting to think about my 2008 challenges!!!!!!

Morning all! I feel as though I have had a whole 10 mins sleep.......not fair!!

Oh well.....another cup of coffee and a hot shower will hopefully get me a bit more awake. Uni job today, then karate for the kids straight after, so by the time I get home it is almost 8pm! So not much time for anything else today.

I hope you all have a good one xx

  • Hi hypno - why the bad sleep? Isn't there anything 'hypno' you could try on yourself?

    Have a good day yourself!

Hi GTD, it wasn't bad sleep last night, just doesn't feel as though I have had any more than about 10 mins!

I closed my eyes, then before I knew it the alarm had gone off, and I didn't awake the refreshed energised person that I had hoped would emerge :o

  • Hi hypno.

Your Sunday afternoon/evening sounds wonderful and a real tonic for you all. I'm so happy that you got to spend some time all together and having fun. It does wonders for the spirits doesn't it?

I can sense your optimism over the future already and it's contagious:rotfl: , I feel brighter already this morning after catching up with your latest posts.

Sorry you feel tired this morning with a long day ahead but, as you say, its not such hard work just a tad boring maybe, and I guess you get to sit down so not all bad.

I know we'll all be looking forward to your new challenges when you've worked out what they're going to be.

    Have a great week
    Take care
