OK, because you have BULLIED me into spending money on myself, I will put it towards my haircut on my "me" day.....xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Morning hypno, I'm just catching up on your thread - it takes longer every time I log on!
Congrats on the lottery win and enjoy making plans for your second birthday. Tell us what it is so we can send you greetings.
You've had such an up and down time you must be shattered.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Morning seax, yes I am pretty shattered, but ok - lots to do today and really really need to start getting into some sort of routine, otherwise I will be even more shattered.
My "new" birthday will be very MSE - I am going to get my hair cut at the local college, and have vouchers to cover everything else, so I will get a fab day for next to no cost. I will hopefully make the hair appointment tomorrow, then can fit everything else around it. I have not had my hair cut for over a year due to lack of cash, so am quite excited about it - just hope the trainees at the college are suitably supervised!! I am sure they will be!
OH is working in yet another extra job today - this one temporary for Christmas. It is at the ice rink, so I will take the kids up there later and they can have a quick skate with our lodger and her bf.
Race training starts at 8.30, so best get a move on.
Have a good day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Glad common sense has prevailed over spending your lottery win on yourself. You know we all support you wholeheartedly in everything you do to raise funds but I think putting your birthday present into the ski fund would have brought a chorus of disapproval:eek:
Sounds like you have another busy day planned, although the skating sounds a nice diversion from work. Kind of you to take your student and her boyfriend with you.
Big hug to your DH too for doing everything possible to earn money. I'll bet you hardly see one another with so many jobs between you. If you could bottle and sell the energy you two have you'd be millionaires in no time:rotfl:
P.S. Please put me down for a crate of it!0 -
Morning! Glad that the weekend is looking up a bit for you now and the birthday wasn't a complete washout (or storm surge or whatever they call it down your way!).
Enjoy birthday No 2!0 -
Glad to hear you listened to my wise counsel Hypno
Sounds like a fab day you have planned.
Thanks Snaggles- I stole it of courseIt was said this week by Marie Osmond on Oprah-she's in dancing with the stars at the moment (US version of Strictly Come dancing) has fainted in front of 28 million viewers on camera and then the following week her father died , she's also just got divorced and that was her comment when asked how she was coping. I loved the quote and thought it fitted especially well on MSE. Glad it helped with Ryan. If you want to talk "stratagy" just MSN me.

Afternoon all! Not long been back from the ski club - ended up working for a few hours - all helps in the grand scheme of things, but I had hoped just to sit with a quiet cup of coffee while they were training! Oh well!
Now they are doing their homework, in between bouts of bickering!! Oh the joys of motherhood!! I need to get a veggie bolognese on the go, so that when we get home from ice skating I don't have to do anything much more than heat it through and cook some pasta.
What I REALLY want to do is close my eyes for a few minutes.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Afternoon Hypno..glad you decided to use the winnings for yourself and your pamper day sounds fantastic...hope you managed to get a rest if only for an hour xx0
-
Hi taxi, well, if you mean by "rest" sitting with backside firmly glued to the settee, then YES, I am getting rest.
I would have liked to have closed my eyes, but I needed to keep chivvying the children with their homework and chores! If I allowed myself to go to sleep, the children would have made the most of it, and I would have a late night battle on instead!
I fully intended doing some college work this afternoon, but have not done any! Oh well, there is always tomorrow after work, but I must must must get out of this habit of leaving things to the last minute!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
