I agree with what Duchy said about going for the full-time (rare, but perfectly formed) job, and if it really isn't for you, or is just too exhausting apply for the 4-day (more easily available) job.

UNLESS: this would offend/inconvenience/p*ss off your new employers.....

Well done anyway on being such a wanted employee.:D

Actually Pania (can I climb upon your couch?) I've realised today that I'm really not coping without Popeye. I hate it.
Things go wrong -the computer, the Tv, the bank balance and I'm usually happy to share the work needed to get it put right. But I hate hate hate dealing with it on my lonesome. (I'm well down a bottle of red-wine tonight, but this is the first time since he went a month ago, and I'm feeling right sorry for myself.) :o

I saw an old friend today, and he pointed out that my body language is that of a depressed person. I didn't think I was depressed unitl then.......:o

Work was busy but was ok. Then whizzed to Morrisons and bought a few bits and bobs, came home and cooked a seafood risotto :D

Then DD hogged my laptop and I was getting more and more  but finally they have gone to bed so I can have my sanity back for a little bit before I go to bed!

I am heading more towards the full time job, and I do think that perhaps it will make me more organised simply because I will "have" to be!! It takes all the pressure off me as far as the debts are concerned and since I found out I have the job (whichever one I go for) I have been so much happier, and I am sure it is because I won't have to worry about money! I can become friends with my snowball again, because I have been a bit ashamed to visit the site recently :o

Whichever job I take is going to be the hardest job I have ever ever done, but this is part of the challenge and what makes it appealing to me! I can see occasional clients as and when, which will be a bonus - a real treat to do, and the extra money will pay for treats of one sort or another, including the kids skiing or debt overpayments (yes I DO see them as being treats!!)

So, I will ask for more details on the full time post, before making a final decision, but I am almost certain it is the one I will be going for.

Thank you all so much for all your help in making me see this from every angle - it is so easy to get caught up in the "salary" side of things and I needed to be able to see everything clearly - including the lack of coffee drinking opportunities and the reduction in MSE time!!.

Oh OO, sorry you are so down. It is understandable, and to say that you will get used to it doesn't really help I expect, because you don't necessarily WANT to get used to it!

A bit of a treat is required methinks - could you book yourself in for a bit of a pamper, or lunch with a friend. Of course if you are verging on depressed, go and have a chat with your GP before things get unmanageable for you.

    Big hugs hun xxx

oh sweetheart, right climb up here on my couch and have a hug. Thats awful honey and I can see how the situation is making it tough. OH and I were apart for 6 months when he first moved up here and that was us in the same country!! It is very lonely getting home and not having a cuddle or someone to say hi to or spout about your tough day. Do you have a cat or some form of company? may take the edge of it hon.
Do you think it is something you will get used to or will it continue to affect you? always here if you need a natter hon, just PM me.

You're very kind Pania and Hypno.

I've had the most weird hour here. I've laughed hugely at the party thread, and then been near to tears here. :o

The cat is no help, he is pining for Popeye too. DS2 popped home for a visit and accused me of starving him (I keep chucking uneaten cat food out to the magpies!)

Sadly I'm preferring the company of virtual friends to accepting invites to firework parties, it's nice here isn't it? I view Hypnos thread as a sort of long coffee morning/evening.

On the plus side, I fly out in the next two weeks to see OH for a week, and he'll be back at Christmas, so I'm being childish minding these 6 week absences....but I do mind.

OO, you could always come round mine, and drink Fairtrade Coffee.......

See, things aren't so bad after all are they :rotfl:

You might want to think twice about going round to Panias - she has a horrid cough and will splutter all over you
