Hi guys! nipping on quickly during a quiet period in the bar!

I have a huge dilemma with the number of hours - the 4 days is for a job for which there is a constant demand. If I want to do this at any point, I can probably do so without too much hassle.

The full time job on the other hand seems to be a one off - so if I don't take it, I might not get another chance.

Of course if I do the full time job, I more or less give up all the other stuff I do, but wouldn't "need" to do so much extra stuff anyway.

If I do the 4 days, I still "have" to do the extra stuff because I will still have a shortfall I need to make up just so the SOA balances.

So, pros and cons both ways. I have to make a pretty prompt decision, simply because I cannot afford to book clients in who I then cancel - it is just not fair on them or on the clinic I work out of etc. Also, the prison need to know fairly quickly so they can find someone to fill the job I do not go for!

Arrggh decisions decisions - what a fab situation to be in though - I just have to get it right.

The kids are happy with whatever we do - have had a long talk about it already.

Awwww, Duchy, how horrible - some people are just downright nasty. It was probably some deranged Donny Osmond fan who is jealous of you. Hope you're okay hon.

Hypno, I can't believe the changes in your life over the last few days - has your head stopped spinning yet?

Duchy, sorry, I was caught up in my own little world and forgot to send you ((((((hugs)))))) for the horrid experience of you having someone doubt your abilities to care. I hope you don't get any sort of repeat of that.

GTD, yes probably the full time has the edge - it is sort of that "job of a lifetime" thing. Plus the fact that I wasn't even looking for it sort of seems that it is "meant to be". I am so so aware that if I make the wrong decision though, it will be horrid.

    got to go.......customers!!

  • The 64 million dollar question I'm concerned about is if you go full time, will you have time to post on here?!

Seriously though, I'm sure you'll make the best decision.

Gosh, the thread is very complex today.... hypno, so many decisions for you.... good decisions, but still, each with their own far-reaching implications.

And Pania and GTD - what are you two like! Feels like there's a comedy chorus going on, between the alliteration and that sweet little pony.

I'm just sorry Duchy has had such a bad time - sorry you felt it, duchy, and actually its not the visit from the RSPCA thats so bad, is it, as the thought that somebody local can do that, whether from mistaken concern or from vindictiveness. Weird - you have my sympathies on that.

  • Hypno. I think you should go full time. SOA will balance. Sounds as if jobs a good un. You would still have the option of seeing clients at weekend or evenings. DFD could be here in no time. You and OH would have aged about 10years mind you ;) . Good luck on the decision making

Thanks for the hugs all and Hypno-if the fulltime is the rarer of the two options.....go for the the fulltime and if it turns out to be too much switch to the 4 day next time it comes up.
Andfunny about the crazed Donny Osmond fan....a friend just rang and suggested a local one who has been a bit erratic lately Hmmmm

  • Sorry hypno, I seem to have got the wrong end of the stick (nothing new there then:o ). I thought it was just the one job which, after meeting you and deciding they wanted to work with you, they expanded from 4 days to full time because they were so impressed with you (as we all expected them to be). I didn't think that there would be two different jobs with someone else involved too. I see your dilemma!

Good luck whatever you do. Sounds like your lovely family are totally supportive and will take whatever comes in their stride so just do what feels right for you.

Evening Hypno...myself i would do the full time one and fit in clients etc at other times. The full time one will balance the books and then you can do clients because you want to and not because you have to...you may be surprised at what time you have to yourself even working full time..and you may find yourself more organised..good luck whatever you decide
