And this does not include car tax, car insurance, AA cover, (all paid as and when they arise, somehow!) and the immense ski costs which I am trying to cover from the uni work, bar shifts, and everything else that I can possibly do. In addition, this does not include karate gradings, new karate suits and their annual licences.
The difference each month is somehow managed by overtime, 2nd jobs, mystery shopping, ebaying,

writing it down like this, I am not sure if I am!! Certainly my heart has started racing since I typed it up and I feel quite emotional about it!! Maybe it will focus me a bit on keeping that spending diary going!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Oooh, good, I've come back in in the middle of a push - yes please, hypno, soa asap ifkwim? Pls? OK.
soa - soa - soa - soa - soa - soa - think of it as soaring (a really subtle pun, I know, sorry). I'm in the middle of the dreaded vacuuming,I can't tell you how many little spiders I've vacuumed up that I've been walking past for weeks and not noticed in the general dirt. I'm a !!!!!!, I really am. Just have to finish that off, and I'll be back to look at the soa. Hint, broad, for the use of diarist....:rotfl:
Its mean, I don't know why we're teasing you, you've said before your soa doesn't add up, thats why you're so focussed on the mb etc. You know we all love you.
EEK! The posting goes so fast on your thread, this is out of date by the time I've typed it! Ah well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Uh, hypno, I know you've talked about your fuel bills being exorbitant, but they are literally through the roof. Sweetie, are you putting the electric fires on and hanging them out of a window? Que pasa? And lets sit down while you tell us the story of why you're paying for a bank account. I know its got to be a bad one for you. I feel for you with that negative balance, I really do, and I'm not surprised your heart is racing. Have a cuppa coffee, decaff if need be.

Thank you for posting it Hypno ... can I just ask, what exactly do you guys do with all that gas / electric?? :rotfl:Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £10790 -
If only I knew, we are not paying off arrears or anything - we don't have the heating on massively, I def don't use the iron and hoover much !!! I have energy saving lightbulbs, and the lights are not left on throughout the house etc.
I do use the tumble dryer though, although I now have a washing line! My therapy room has to be kept reasonably warm,
And the kettle and laptop are always on.........:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
You know, there's stuff on the leccy board here about rampant meters. Maybe you have one of those, and you've been overcharged for years? I know its awful, but it might be worth checking out.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Don't think so, as it is only since I started working from home that it has shot up like that! Up until then it was about £87 a month, which was far more reasonable!
I am waiting for my next bill to come in, and if I am in credit then I will be looking to change supplier. I am certainly going to have to do an "audit" of our usage over the next few weeks.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. You're right, the audit is the thing. On the mortgage free board, mountainlioness, I think it was, was doing exactly that - peering at the meter on the hour and experimenting with different appliances. OTOH, you saw the jump when you started to work from home, bummer, which explains the difference in the bill. I'm lucky. I have a massive south facing picture window, and the low winter sun shines in all day long. After about 10am, my living room doesn't need any heat, tho my therapy room does, its at the north side of the house. But if I'm not in there (and lets face it, contact hours have been down
) at least I'm not spending it on that. Oh, and there's only me, not four of me!
