I've just realised that I don't have to listen to my Johnny Cash freebie CD for the whole two hours as I am bound to unearth others when I tidy the sitting room. Hooray!

No offence to Johnny (and I'm a fan, I admit) but there's a limit to the number of times you want to hear 'I walk the line' of a morning.

I really need to do something with the state of my house, the health visitor is coming on Tuesday to weigh Natasha and discuss 'when to wean' (oops....*hides box of baby rice and assorted fruit purees behind sofa*) and I need it to look perfect for then!

I might join you from work in the clean up challenge too if thats ok? My work desk looks as if a bomb has gone off! Was sorting through it last week as the project I work on is changing in the next couple of weeks and i got sidetracked... now I can barely type for all the piles of rubbish to go through!! :rotfl: My list for tomorrow is...

1) make sure student is ok while I do all the stuff below... :rolleyes:
2) scan some stuff in for my boss and email it to him
3) sort through stuff on my desk
4) sort through stuff on shelves (most of which is in order)
5) go through the million post-its that are taking over :rotfl:
6) box/archive some of the stuff I no longer use but still need to keep
7) Update some of the lists of what is stored where!
8) rediscover my desk surface :rotfl: The important one !!!!

If there is any time left then...


9) sort through my backups of backups of backups I have on my computer/server space/zip disks from the dark ages (need to find a comp that still has a zip drive :eek: ... I'm pretty sure its all on the server already but I want to double check before I chuck them for good!!)

10) burn CDs to back it up properly and in an organised manner now I have a working cd/dvd burner!!

Hmmm sounds scary! Have meetings on all afternoon save for the odd 10 mins so this needs to be done in the morning! :eek:

Taka, you sound as though you have your work cut out!

Welcome to the challenge! Do you have the ability to listen to music while you work, and if so, what will you choose?

It sounds scarier than it is... my desk is pretty small - ~ 1.1m wide with a computer on it taking up around 1/2 of it so its maybe 3 magazine files/lever arch files worth of stuff to file/stick in book/find a home for and the shelves are about 90% organised so may need to be moved around/updated as I go through everything else!

The computer sort out is the worst thing as I haven't had easy access to a CD/DVD burner for a year or two and have backed everything up so many times and places that I now have 5 or 6 copies of some of it! I mostly need to check which are copies of copies and delete the extra and keep the most up-to-date versions and burn them to CD! MSE is too distracting and much more fun... :rotfl:

The soundtrack for the clearout will be radio 1 I think!! (through headphones!) I'll be around prob 10am onwards!

Taka, you shouldn't have told us how small your desk is - I was mightily impressed at the amount you were looking to achieve until you said it was just 3 files :rotfl:
