Glad Ebay's looking healthy - and finger's crossed that it all goes according to plan this time!

As for the energy - I guess invigilating all morning doesn't really help as you've been so static, so all I can suggest is a mad jumping around session to get the blood pumping!

Keep smiling - it convinces your brain that you're happy!

Have just called the court again - still no date for my Barclays hearing  They say that they expect I will hear next week. But then, they said that last week, and if I recall rightly the week before

I just have to console myself with the fact that every day that goes by is extra interest that they will have to pay me, but then that doesn't help when I am being charged a higher rate of interest on the card that I will be paying off if the Barclays money comes through.....

Off to do some more smiling and jumping around.....:j :j :j

I will let you into a little secret El, I am not really jumping up and down

It is the court who are dragging their heels, no doubt because of the huge volume of similar cases, so I can't blame Barclays for this delay, other than blaming them for not paying out to me when I instigated the claim in the first place!!

I am sorry that you feel so pants right now. I hope you feel better very soon.

A reasonable start to the weekend in they Hypno house - today I have done three more mystery shops, so I am getting through the marathon mystery shopping challenge slowly but surely!

I have registered to trade in an old mobile phone through envirofone. Only £9.40 but not too bad really. Also got £1.49 tracked through quidco for it.

One matched bet put on today - I really need to do more but don't think it will get done today.

Ebay continues to do well, with £230 of bids so far -everything ends tomorrow and Monday so hopefully will have a good amount to report over the next few days.

I paid £60 off an overdraft today on a dormant bank account - I am trying to keep it open just in case Barclays become difficult over my bank charges, but it still has a small (well in comparison to everything else I owe) OD on it. This is now reduced to about £75 so hopefully when ebay finishes, I can use some of the money to clear it completely. If it turns out that I do not need the parachute account, then I can close it, but think I should keep it open for the moment just in case.

The weather is pants today and everyone is tired, so DD has made some popcorn and we are all sitting here watching Notting Hill on DVD. Might go for a ski later this evening but that will depend on the rain - the children love it because it makes them go faster, I hate it because I don't like getting wet!!

    Hello Hypno

Glad to hear you've got some money coming in - hope the ebay sales all go smoothly this time.

How are you faring living off your storecupboard? Any more delicious meals concocted from handfuls of almonds found at the back of the cupboard? Are the children enjoying their mayonnaise sandwiches?

Watching feelgood films together is such a nice way to spend a dull day. I introduced my lot to The Sound of Music recently (video £1 from a bootfair - bargain) and we've all been singing The Lonely Goatherd ever since.

    Have a good weekend

Hi you two :hello: I hope you are having a reasonable weekend.

Last night I made a goats cheese risotto - discovered that goats cheese freezes well, having bought some at the supermarket ages ago, then not knowing what to do with it I shoved it in the freezer on a "see what happens" basis. I mean, the worst that can happen is that we get food poisoning, so.....surely worth a try

Anyway, it defrosted well and made a fabby risotto, with a slosh (or 2) of white wine, some green pepper, a couple of bits of broccoli and (wait for it, this is the height of luxury) some fresh asparagus that my friend gave me yesterday!!

Fabby dinner without having to buy anything.

Today I am doing something with prawns, and pasta. I bought some mushrooms and a courgette off the market today so can make something lovely tonight for dinner.

Tomorrow is beef (found some ancient stewing steak in the freezer) and ale casserole, cooked in the slowcooker with some herby dumplings.

We still have some popcorn kernals left so might get the kids to make some more to take for packed lunches left week, and we also have porridge oats so perhaps some flapjacks are on the menu too.

No one will starve here this week!

wow, those meals sound fab! If you've got any tips on how to survive on tins of tomatoes and not much else, feel free to throw them my way. Am having to live on next to nothing for the next three weeks :( like £10 a week for everything i might need.
