Am I strange as I really enjoy ironing - I love the fresh clean smell of the laundry. The only thing i hate is hanging it all up afterwards.

    Yep you're strange! ;)

But I do love actual washing of clothes especially as I discovered Fairy's almond and whatever it is fragrance fabric conditioner (ooops that's not very DFW is it?) as it smells lush.

funny how we all get these wee jobs that make us feel like we've accomplished something like ironing..for my friend it's brushing her floors she has to have a clean floor my other friend it's her washing she loves to see it all hung up on the line (with the same coloured pegs )and yet for another friend it's the ironing as well they all say they feel great and have accomplished something and thier house feels cleaner to them....i've left home 18 years now and i have to say i'm still looking for mine lol...but then i sometimes think i'm more male than female

Hi el, you must have been posting on my diary at the same time I was posting on yours! Great minds and all that.....

I am going to cheat with this diary entry and copy and paste what I put on your's because it sort of sums things up nicely:

I'm finding it more and more difficult as the month goes on! All the bits and pieces of work that I'm doing won't pay out until next month and yet the demands for money keep coming in NOW!

The family moaned this morning that there was nothing for their sarnies. I responded that there was honey or marmite so be grateful. I think they think I am a nasty witch of a wife/mother whose only role in life is to deprive them of luxury ham and cheese.....

I am off out for lunch - I need to cheer up a friend who has the anniversary of her dad's death today so lovely lunch it is, although I am going somewhere where I can use vouchers, I will try not to think of the cost.

Still no news at this end re travel insurance or bank court date. These things are starting to bug me big time! I will chase them up tomorrow but today I don't want to get too wound up as this won't do my friend any good, although it may take her mind away from her own emotions if I just sit and rant for a couple of hours :o

Hi hypno, sorry to hear you are having a hard time with two thirds of the month left to go...

Could you confiscate a few mobile phones while invigilating and sell them on ebay? No I suppose not....

Is there a Lidl near you? You can find really cheap lunchbox treats in there. eg huge tubs of chocolate spread for next to nothing - an alternative to Marmite for Fridays! Also very cheap cheese straws and such like which my children seem to consider as good as cakes.

Hi Seaxwyn!! The chocolate spread went in yesterday's sandwiches!!! Heaven only knows what they will get tomorrow. We have plenty of mayonnaise.....

Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel! My DD is just telling me how they dissected pigs hearts and sheeps lungs in science - perhaps she should have brought home the leftovers for something nutritious and filling........:o

Well, I had a good lunch although I felt incredibly guilty for going out. However, this particular friend really helped me out when I was going through the same thing a couple of months ago, looking after the kids when I did Dad's ashes and stuff, so I am only repaying her, really.

Oh well, off to find something for dinner.

    Dust anyone

    Hi hypno,

Have you posted a store cupboard challenge on the OS board? Could you make up pasta/rice salads for lunches instead of sarnies maybe?

Most importantly, did you enjoy your lunch out with your friend?

Hope some money comes in soon for you
