    Hi hypno!

you've already been and gone!:( And as per usual, making all the rest of us feel exhausted. Amazing stuff. Just a hint - take your shoes off at work today and wiggle your toes! Energy pours in!

Seriously, have a great day. And I think I have another suggestion - a conference call for all the people who want to take up matched betting, if everyone paid you a tenner each, that would be .......... a fair bit! I'd join in, I would!:o

I'm supposed to be on holiday this week re client work, and I am after today, but today I'm seeing 3 clients, will earn........ quite a lot:o :T so its moneysaving in a way, as its money creation. Hope the uni work goes well.

Ooooh I like that Matched Betting tutorial idea-I'd pay a tenner for that too.
Decided to Amazon some books yesterday after a long break-only loaded 8 and one sold imediately so will be raiding the cellar and the bookcase and loading a few more after walking down to the PO in the rain to post the one I've sold of course (playing hunt the selotape at the moment).
You must be knackered Hypo-definitely put some coffee and me time in your diary for this afternoon !

    Hi Hypno

I read your thread all the time, just to get inspiration you really are doing very well.

I decided to have a look at your website and although you are too far away from where I live, through your site I contacted someone about my son who is 16 and bites his nails badly and also chews on one of his knuckles which is now slightly disfigured  he wants to stop but never manages it. So anyway this guy emailed me back saying he could help my son in one session and it would be £70 in cash. I would need to be in the room with him due to his age and would need to get involved he said  and from what I can gather from his website he would be using the blow away technique

Do you think this sounds right and also the price and the fact he said it must be cash?

I hope you don't mind me asking your advice :o

Hi Mae, I know nothing about the blow away technique so cannot really comment on whether it is good or not - it was not something I was taught on any of my courses, but that does not mean that it is not effective.

You would generally need to be in the room because he is under 18, but at 16, I would ask the child what he prefers (some don't want Mum with them) and would record the session onto a CD to cover any child protection issues etc.

At 16, I would not expect the parent to be actively involved - the child at that age knows what he is doing, and knows what he is talking about. If the parent remains in the room at this age, it is generally just to accompany a minor, nothing more.

I would say that any therapist worth seeing, will be happy to give you a half hour free consultation. Take advantage of this and if you don't get offered one, or if you don't like the chap when you meet him, don't take it any further. Ring him up and ask for a chance to chat.

As for payment, many therapists don't take anything other than cash or cheque but I would guess that his cash doesn't always get to the bank! He may be working Cash in hand, or he may be declaring everything to the revenue but just prefers cash. Who knows!!

I prefer cheques myself - at least it has a chance of getting as far as the bank that way!!
