  • Wow Hypno - just catching up with your thread and i'm so impressed with all the ideas you, your family and people on here have come up with.

The ink cartridges sound like a great idea, I'm sure most non MSE/environmentally friendly types just through them away so hopefully your children will be able to get some.

I can't remember if this has been suggested but could the children do anything sponsored? I was just remembering when I was at college I organised a sponsored night hike to raise money for equipment for our new Duke of Edinburgh award group - the local asda store provided food for us in return for a mention in our press release and we raised hundreds of pounds, mostly through fellow students just sponsoring us £1 or 2, and staff too -

Sorry I'm waffling - think it's because I'm tired so I'm off to bed - look forward to hearing the next lot of ideas !!

    That's a great idea.

If there are a few people fundraising for the trip then bagpacking at the supermarkets is another thing that can rake in an awful lot of money, especially if you can get one of the weekends near Christmas when everyone is out buying food. I think we had about 15 people doing it last time and got about £1000 in an afternoon!

Also, if HP ink cartridges are worth anything, I'm in charge of the stationery and recycling in my office. There's a nice box of them waiting to be disposed of if they're any use to you :D

Morning! Alexnikov you are a mine of wonderful ideas! I will make enquiries about bagpacking - I am sure there are a few kids who would be happy to get involved with that one!

And as for the ink cartridges, yes please!!! I will pm you my address. Thank you very much!

Well, the children have both been for their early morning run - getting kids up for school in the morning is hard enough, lots of extra grumping going on when you say "time to get up and go for a run" but I will give them their dues, and they get up, get ready and get running!

Far more activity than I can muster up at that time of the day :o

Today I am doing an extra shift in my Uni job to cover holiday so another £50 can go in the fund at the end of the month. OH his doing an extra shift in his second job too this evening.

OH got paid from second job today, so after the CC payment that this covers, there is £50 transferred to the ski club fund today so the sig has been updated.

Oh, and by the skin of the teeth of my bank balance, the student money went in today - the same day the loan payment went out! So a sigh of relief breathed once more!!

Anyway, best get on, if I have to go to work, so have a good day everyone!!

Well, anyway.,... as I was saying :rotfl: I love the way the "bits" add up - I think your thread is one of the clearest for showing that. I don't do nearly enough (maybe I *should* start my own thread) - but at least my website is up now. Now I have to concentrate on the financial practice, and on getting my accounts to my accountant, and THEN its moneysaving. Actually, I'm going to start a little thread about something particular. All visitors here, please visit the thread that Karmacat is starting today!!

LOL at the "got to rush, Martin's:money: on the telly" thing :rotfl:

It really is baby steps all the way with this type of thing though isn't it? When we start off having our lbm we don't appreciate this, and expect it all just to "happen".

I will be logging on at work (sneakily, of course) to have a look at the thread you are about to start - I am on tenterhooks!!

I hope you have a good day x
