    Morning all!

Firstly, how can ANYONE go to Cadbury world and NOT eat all the chocolate they are given before they have even left the car park  I have ALWAYS wanted to go there - perhaps it can be our "long trip out" in our holiday from home. Friends have recommended Warwick Castle, but I don't think chocolate is high on the agenda there!!

The children enjoyed the Simpsons yesterday, and today DD has a friend coming round then they are going swimming, and DS is accompanying me on a mystery shop, when we will incorporate a visit to Lidl (we don't have one near us, but there is one near this mystery shop) and a trip to OH Grandpa who is in a home near to the MS (he is 93 bless). So, basically the MS is too far away to make it worth doing on its own, but I am seeing it as though they are just paying the petrol for us to go and see Grandpa and go to Lidl!

JCD - haven't seen you about. How are things with you hun?

ZTD, the yoghurt is still thickening - may have to give this batch up as a failure if it does not do it's thing today. The children like it thick. (as do I :o ).

Chore wars - now there is something that rings true in my house. I will be investigating that thread later!!

se999 - Orange Wednesday is a BOGOF cinema offer if you have orange phone or broadband (we have broadband). You simply register, and text a code and in return you get a free ticket to any cinema on a Wednesday - excellent for the school holidays!!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

  • Hi Hypno

Not posted on here for a while, hope you are feeling better soon - can imagine it's not very nice wearing a neck brace particularly with this weather!

How are you doing with flylady? I kindly left DH a list this morning for him to do and I left the house having shined my sink so all is well :D

Well, my house is a long way from perfect, but it is certainly better than usual, so I think flylady is working, really. It is good that it is broken down into little jobs because I can get the children at them without it being too boring/difficult/time consuming for them.

I think the neck brace is doing its stuff - when I don't wear it, it hurts more. So although it is a horrid thing to wear in this heat, I will persevere. Sadly my hands and arms still hurt but they did take the brunt of the impact, so they will take longer to heal. The physio is working them well though so it will all come good in the end!

How are your shelves coming along - all up and fully functional?

Hello Hypno, hope the neck is feeling better (and the limbs)

My kids (& me :o ) LURVED Cadburys World. And they really give you shed loads of choccie if you play your cards right. We visited 3 times when they were younger, it was an annual treat. The chocolate is very fresh too, and it makes a difference - closer to the source I suppose, and a hefty turnover. We used to buy the mis-shapes in the shops afterwards, but you have to be a bit canny, some of the bags are entirely one sort of chocolate which is OK if you like that one, but disappointing if you are 10 yrs old and expecting a jamboree bag.

BTW How's the giving up chocolate challenge? :rotfl:

    Hiya

That sounds like a great day out - famly...... Lidl........ mystery shop....... nice drawing together of all those threads, hypno! I did the questionnaire a few days ago, I'm not quite sure whether to go to the website or wait for an email - if its anything like indiefield, it'll be a miserable failure. When I go there, I can never find out how to log on, its a weird site, or maybe I've got the wrong thing bookmarked. Anyway, hope the day is good - with CHOCOLATE!

The best bit about cadbury world is a new thing called essence (new since I went two years ago). You have to watch some show or other then you go into a room and choose a filling such as biscuits, marshmellows etc etc. They then add liquid chocolate to it. OMG it's heaven! Whilst I was there I brought a chocolatiers set as we'd made chocolates earlier in the week and had lots of fun. The new set has lots of moulds / molds (SP?), the utensiles you need to make truffles and things, a special pot for melting the chocolate at exactly the right temperature.

There's one problem with all this! I've started the pound for £s thread and must resist temptation. Hypno, if you do go make sure you check out the little factory shop in the big cadbury shop. I've still got some chocolate left and I left cadbury world over 12 hours ago!

I think my sister and I might have been the only ones to nearly get thrown off the little ride there. It's very tame but funny only we pretended to be really scared as we went round corners at 0.0005 miles an hour. Well, it amused us. Funnily enough our children pretended they weren't with us! xx

Was Cadburyworld busy LJD considering the school hols? It is looking very tempting as a day out!

Today I did my mystery shop - had to go to lots of different places, not just for the mystery shop, but managed to do them all without paying to park - not bad at all, considering it was Yarmouth in the summer hols!! Then went to see Grandpa - he is 93 and like many of his age in residential homes, spends a lot of time just sat in his chair. He had tried a cushion that helps reduce bed sores but the NHS then said they didn't have enough to go around so took it off him!!!!

So, I went straight out and bought him one of these special cushions. Trouble is the cost was £64  . Now, Grandpa did try and pay me for it, but I said no. I felt that I should be able to get him comfortable if nothing else, so I will find the money from a budget somewhere!

We also had chips off Yarmouth market - something I have not done since I was a teenager. YUM!!!!!

Then went to Aldi to do shopping. We seemed to get plenty for our money, but it wasn't what I would call a standard weekly shop, so difficult to tell. I have a shopping budget of £150 for August, and have spent £44 of it, but hopefully have enough for a while, considering the summer hols etc. I have kept the receipt so will try and compare with others when I can be bothered!
