Right, saw my first client this morning since the accident, and boy does it hurt!! My shoulders and arms ache like billio! Oh well, at least I have client money coming in again now. I am back in the recording studio this afternoon which will be very hot and stuffy but hopefully we are coming to the end of the project now and can start marketing the stuff and seeing how long it is before we make our fortunes.........

This morning's post brought details of another of OH's credit card bank charges over the years, plus they returned our £10 cheque so that is good - something for me to do this evening!

The weather is beautiful here today and OH cut the grass yesterday so the garden looks presentable. I would love to go and sit outside, but fear that no work will get done, so will stay inside for the time being.

Hypno, as the woman has admitted fault in the accident I would have thought you'd be able to claim yourself for a massage or similar treatment that would help your aches & pains - although you'd probably have to pay up front, so it depends on cashflow.

Good luck with the recording, though I don't envy you being shut up inside a studio today - you're in danger of missing the 1 day of British summer!

Hi Storm! I could do without the recording studio this afternoon to be honest, but I really do want these things to get marketed as it is only then that we might see some money in from them, and as I seem to have spent AGES on this stuff a few weeks ago, I want to get some sort of return from it!

So, in the interests of becoming a squillionnaire and being able to treat you all to a trip to the Maldives, I had better look forward to being locked away in a soundproofed room! (actually, with the school holidays about to start, it could be a very attractive proposition!!).

Just updated the snowball calculator as the latest lot of repayments have been made this week, and after all that money that has been paid out, I have reduced my total debt by £186. Not exactly setting the world on fire, but at least it is going in the right direction.

Still someway off my target for the year of £15,000 - £6569 to go, and definately still runner up in the race against Seaxwyn to get to £35000!

Better come up with some good ideas sharpish!!

Hi Hypno. Well done for getting into the 42s.

I'm pretty certain I will have increased my debt this month, so the gap between us will narrow.

You may still win, I have no money-making schemes up my sleeve except ebaying a blender... and entering writing comps (I'm doing one today with the title 'I've been dumped' which has given rise to various painful memories from my youth).

Good luck with the writing competition. Having been with my OH since I was 15, I don't have may tales of having been dumped, so if I were to enter it would all be based on what I have read in DD's Jacqueline Wilsons!!!

Right off to the recording studio now!

Attagirl! If you can start marketing those MP3s this year you will surely beat me to 35k.

Aaaah, lovely that you were childhood sweethearts! I was 25 when I met my OH with several humiliating dumpings under my belt. But I have abandoned truth and written an MSE inspired dumping story for the comp - hope it hits the zeitgeist as I'd win a holiday in Barcelona. One can but try.

Hi there I hope someone can help me, or point me towards the right thread, this is the first time I have posted on here. In 2004 my then partner of 14 years walked out on me and his three kids for another woman leaving us in debt with rent arrears, water arrears, council tax arrears, you name it we got the arrears for it, although I know it takes two to get into debt he was one of the shirkers of the world and hated working so was in and out of work for years, losing job after job. He paid me no child maintenance for the kids, and no money whatsoever for his half of the arrears, so I had been attempting to pay the rent plus some off the arrears each week. the arrears when he left were almost £4,000, both our names were on the rent book with the housing association.

I eventually met a wonderful man who helped me a lot and paid off my half of the rent arrears and more bringing the balance down to just over £1,500, we then sought private rented accomodation, and subsequently moved in April 2006, I continued to pay all the arrears for everything that my ex left (and still am paying them!) apart from the remaining rent arrears which I thought was only fair my ex should pay, so when I moved I contacted the housing association and told them that although my ex and I were both severally liable for the arrears I would not be paying any more and gave them my ex-partners new address for them to obtain money from him, a few weeks later I had a nasty call from my ex saying he was going to be paying it.

I heard nothing then until 2 weeks ago when a letter came through our door from a company called Centrethorn Debt Recovery Unit addressed to Ms (my first name but no second name) & Mr (my ex-partners first and second name), requesting payment of £1522.73, as the letter did not state my second name I called the company and told them that the person the letter was addressed to did not live at this address. They told me that a Ms (my ex-partners second name) had given them my address, so I assumed that it was my ex-partners new wife, (the one he left me for) had passed on my address, may I state at this point that we have had a lot of trouble from this woman and her family in the past, which has involved us having to call police and make a complaint, they are one of the big reasons why we moved away and didn't want them to know our address but my eldest son decided to tell his dad one day.

Today I have received another letter from the same company addressed the same stating "As you have failed to answer our calls (had no calls) or letters, with any satisfactory outcome, we can only assume you are purposely avoiding repayment of this debt."

    Blah Blah

    Then goes on to say,
"In the event that our client has already taken legal action in this matter and obtained a County Court Judgement, an application will be made to the Court Bailiffs to attend at your address, for the purpose of levying goods to the value of the debt."

Sorry this is an essay, I need to know where I stand and whether I can make him pay his half of the arrears or not. And if it does go to court will the judge make him pay the remainder and not me. what should I do? Please someone help, I am due to have my baby in the next 3 weeks and this is really stressing me out!

    Hi Bluebelle,

You're best off starting a new thread (there's a button at the top of the board) as you'll get loads of replies & advice that way rather than on hypno's diary thread
