  • Some great posts here which help others build their shower Gel/shampoo lakes. My only worry is that this great loophole will be closed as we are pretty much giving Mr T a masterclass in what not to do when creating/designing coupon campaigns. Would hate to see this opportunity go the way of R&R. Any suggestions as to how the thread can be 'toned down?'

Everyone here pretty much gets the gist of the opportunity, perhaps deciding not to repeatedly post successes (which is hard as it's so satisfying) might be a start. Perhaps just posting new coupons to keep an eye out for, we can all do the maths. We could do with the thread being shorter and a touch more reserved.

Tesco's have been issuing these vouchers since last August. There have been many glitches talked about quite openly on this forum which they haven't amended. The Sanex glitch worked on two different promotions. We have all been taking advantage of the radox glitch for nearly 4 weeks which has been giving us discount on our shopping.

For every MSE'r who uses the vouchers how many customers dont use them. Oops sorry they can't, MSE'rs have stripped the stores:rotfl:

Well, some kind soul must've originally come on here and told us about these glitches in the first place, and I for one am very grateful to them for doing so.

I'm sure Tesco are aware of all this but they also know that once they get us in their store we will remember that we also need bread, milk, biscuits, coffee, sugar etc etc etc....

They know how to make a profit allright! Lets face it - if Morrisons were doing the same thing we'd all be shopping there now.
  • I agree with last few comments of mr T wanting the monopoly on the other stores by means of losing a little bit of profit to show that they sell more than other supermarkets etc Also Ive noticed in recent weeks sugar has gone up by 5p a bag in my local store and my fave milk has been upped to £1.o4p from £1 so they are getting the losses back by other means. Also could I just say a big thanks to Mr T for the free 2 boxes of sugar puffs that were supposed to be on bogof yet £2.78p came of the bill my son loves these!

Whilst understanding peoples concerns, I think that actually it is a very small percentage of shoppers who use mocs, and that the dent in Mr T's profits is so minutehe really won't worry. I am the only person I know (in 'real' life!!) who does - and thats only through discovering these boards and benefitting from the advice of the incredibly talented people who've worked out the best way to use these offers. Despite spreading the word amongst my family and friends since Christmas, not one other person has started using them. In fact, 3 have made the decision to stop shopping in supermarkets altogether. By contrast, I may be saving a little, but I am actually doing the bulk of my shopping now at T's rather than chiefly at Sainsbury's and Waitrose as I did before! if mr T didn't want us to use these vouchers he wouldn't keep issuing them!
I commented on the big discounts to a SA reducing candles the other day, and she said that 'every time they bring out a new line we have to make space - you wouldn't believe the amount that gets binned'. If instead of binning Mr T reduces a few lines to 1p he then lures in shoppers who feel they have to disguise their 1p bargains with a pile of other shopping - most of which they could buy cheaper from Morrisons, asda , Lidl etc.
Sorry - seem to have gone on a bit!

While I agree with what you say, When I was getting(on average) a console and game bundle a day for a fortnight last summer, I never dreamt that Mr T would put the block on RandR.

Before I found out about these clothes and toiletry/beauty legal loopholes, I discovered that no matter where your coupons came from(Asda, Somerfield, Sainsbury etc) as long as they began with 99 Tesco SS tills will(and did, by goodness) take them all.....thousands of pounds worth of them over a 2 month spell ........but as in RandRing and present couponing (apart from those Ive taught), as hippygirl says.......I am the only one (in real life) I know that does/did it..............

When Asda (mistakingly...haha)in their November magazine, put the wrong barcode on a 50p Uniball pen coupon, and a 50p sinex coupon, resulting in them scanning at £4.50 and £3.98 respectively, I thought that this would be "nipped in the bud"........5 months later, these(although out of date) still scan at these amounts on Tesco tills.

The £5 Nicotinell from Asda, and the array of £37.50's worth of "drink" coupons printed in Decembers Somerfield mag(although months out of date in Somerfield) still scan in Tesco's at full rate.

When a coupon is handed to an SA or SS till and is accepted, I believe that coupon becomes legal tender, so has the same rights as currency.

The till its self cannot tell when a coupon is out of date, unless it has been programmed to do so, and as stores arent expecting to receive other stores coupons, they cant program the tills to reject something they dont know about.

Tesco have clear defined policies on all of these things, it seems though that they dont instruct/teach their staff how to carry them out...........or they dont care.

Tesco's have a lot to do, to put their house in order, at some time or other, they may get round to correcting it, but maybe not in my lifetime.........hopefully.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

just like to mention that some SS tills have now got CCTV cameras and notices above them to monitor coupon usage, I love using coupons and try to use as many as possible each time I shop,,,but recently since last weekend I have noticed they are tightening up taking them and staff are querying them more frequently and refusing some of them..

they always go through tightening up at many stores and then relax again, its all down to the individual store managers ;)

hello, new here, a few questions and hope someone may help :)

how do i know if a product is toiletry or beauty; or both?

what is the cheapest toiletry and/or beauty product that could make up the tiny difference to bring the total to minimum spend requirement?

i could only think of tesco sanitary towel £0.17, this should be toiletry.
and cotton buds £0.35, this should be beauty.
  • I'm in a rush so just a quick post - I bought just over £8 toiletries used 1 x £2.00 voucher that expires tomorrow and the same £2.00 voucher that expires in April. so £4 off in vouchers on a £8 spend minus the bogof meant it was free toiletries. It was a handy way to use the ones that expire tomorrow seen as I cannot find any of the others locally
