Vanquis limit increase?

How were you told of a limit increase?

Was it by letter?
Did letter come with statement? Or before/after?

Just some general info. As i'm hoping for an increase. Not for nothing special just something to allow enough funds for Van rental.

So from all the thousands of people who complain here about the card and prices. Not one has an answer from the 108 views?
  • They send you a letter advising you of any increase approximately a month before it happens. If you don't get any letters then you obviously havn't been given an increase as they assess your limits every few months.

    Hope this helps

From my experience, have held the card for 5 months, a few days after my 4 th statement I got a letter to say my credit limit was been increased, but the increase only happens after this months statement so in my case May, so in reality my increase will take effect a good 6 weeks after the date on the letter. Oh and you have to make sure you dont miss a minimum payment inbetween or go over limit as this can put a stop on the increase.

So a 4 month increase is in fact close to 6 months due to the timings etc

And from the thousands of people who've asked the same question in the past you were not able to bother searching for the answer...!! No need of being rude...

I've had a Vanquis Visa since March with a £500 credit limit. Even if they increased the limit to 10k, I still wouldn't spend much on it.

With interest rates generally over 30% +, you'd be crazy to spend large amounts and leave a balance on it every month.

A Vanquis card needs to be about credit building only. Spend small, pay off in full.

I already searched. I see questions and answers but their was NO Specific one about if letter was included with statement or separate and timing of it.

@Coupon_King yes i hear you buddy. I need the larger limit for vehicle rental specifically a van. Payments would be paid in full for rentals. They won't allow me to use a Debit card...

I'm about to get my fourth statement... Or is it the fifth... And I'm hoping they offer me a bit of an increase. I have flawless history with them but I can turn over more than £500 in 56 days so can't always use the CC. £1000 would be more realistic.
    Oh, you wee bazza!
  • I have had my account for about a year, they increased my limit from £1000.00 to £1750.00 this month. They wrote to me in April and advised by the time my statement was printed this month, it would be increased.

I only use the card for big purchases, the last things I brought on it was a new computer and concert tickets for insurance purposes.

I owe £500.00 on the card and pay £150.00 per month as the min payment.
