Is there any sort of warning on the packaging? usually with meat products there is. "Whilst every precaution has been taken to removes bones" etc. I don't know how you can claim not to be a compo chaser then wants to claim compensation when nothings actually happened to you.
  • Compensation for finding something hard in your mouth? (fnnaaaaarr!!) Anyone would think you don't have any teeth.

Do people wait around on this site for people to ask something that they can take the mick out of??

If someones annoyed about a chicken bone in their tea, surely they're allowed to voice it on here? isn't that the point?

op, take your receipt to the shop you bought them from, tell them what happened and you'll probs get your money back and hopefully a couple of quid extra for your trouble (I literally mean £2) ((if you're lucky, coz that's seems to be the norm))) and I hope you do, it's annoying when you're looking forward to a yummy tea, and it turns out to be not so nice!

and to the rest of the posters, oh my god! I bet you're all the biggest complainers of us all!! complaining at the complainers?! pffft

Please tell us what compensation you are looking for!
  • I apologise if you feel I was being rude, but really? Every chicken product and every fish product I have ever bought has had a little thing on the label saying "while every effort has been made to remove, some bones may still remain".

What do you feel would be adequate compensation to you for your not reading the label and thereby not being prepared adequately for the fact that there may be a small piece of natural animal product remaining in your food?
Your post seems quite facile for a person who is old enough to purchase and cook their own food.

OP, when you said you felt queasy all night because of finding a piece of chicken bone in a chicken dish, I felt it had to be a wind-up.

Go back to Sainsbury's if you're serious. They might give you your money back or something. Maybe you'd better phone them first and see what they say. You don't want to drive all the way there and find there's no compo going.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.

    no, no it's not.

This is a consumer rights board, not a vent board. And as far as consumer rights are concerned I think the general consensus is op doesn't deserve or has said anything that could deserve any kind of financial recompense!

Hope this is in the right place.

I found a bone in my food last night and i want to know how to proceed to complain.
I was eating a chickend nugget supplied by Sainsburys. i have kept the remaining nugget piece and the bone, i also took a photo of the offending article.

I am not the sort of person who agrees with our spiralling litigation culture, but i do feel i should be entitled to some compensation here as if i had swallowed the bone it could have caused serious medical issues. Both my wife and i felt queasy all evening as a result and i couldn;t eat the remainder of my meal.
Can anyone tell me how i proceed making a complaint??
    Thanks.

then I suggest, and this IS serious, that you both consider adopting a vegetarian lifestyle.

Op...you found a bone in a product that carried a warning saying it may contain bones
And you want compensation for something that didn't actually happen. How much compensation do you think you should get for the fact that there MIGHT have been serious medical issues (or might not) IF you had swallowed it (which you didn't)?
