I've run it through and I've got the report and notepad has opened, but I can't copy and paste it into notepad??

no, no, the log opens in notepad, copy the contents from notepad and paste in the reply to thread box on here......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

If it's not opening the log file in Notepad, what is it opening it in?
To find out, look at the coloured bar at the top of the window containing the log. It will say something like:
hijackthis.log - ????????????? (Windows)How do I add a signature?0 -
On your keyboard, press your windows key + R together. A Run box should open. Copy/Paste the following in and click ok.
"%programfiles%\Trend Micro\HiJackThis\hijackthis.log"
The log should open.0 -

Lets try it again from the beginning.
- Right click HijackThis.exe and choose "Run as Administrator" to run it.
- Click main menu
- Click Do a system scan and save a logfile.
