Can anyone confirm that the SIM really works by putting it in a smartphone and tether the internet connection? Wouldnt that work just like a dongle?
I can confirm that the SIM works in my HTC Desire HD when I use it as a WIFI hotspot and also using the wire.
What phone are you wanting to use it with?0 -

Thanks. I will be using it with a Huawei Android phone, so if it works on your phone I will assume it works on mine too and I'll give it a go. I dont see why it shouldnt.0 -
Anybody else have a problem with ads expiring if your internet connection causes the ad video to buffer a few times (abit slow connection)?0

Did you do anything to make it work? I received the SIM now, but no connection. It just says that "no APN configured". I tried to enter the Three APN settings, but still no luck.
Perhaps I need to buy a dongle.0 -
Just signed up for this.
How much data would I use, say if I was on the internet for 3 hours, how many MB would that be?Ok, it would be just general web page browsing (ebay, checking emails etc) - would that use alot?
Is there a limit to how many ads you can watch per day?
Gets the thumbs up from me! :jI Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
just ordered one of these sim's with a dongle ,to hook up to my router for when my virgin cable broadband go's down,it looks good for a put me on ,when every thing falls over ,
how long do you have to wait before you can get more credit when you have watched all the adsthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
For boosting your credit. See comment 55 for the original post, how I do it below.
If you've used up your ads allocation;
Logout and go to the earn credits page, open a bunch of ads in tabs, (1 extra, Lynx and Aptamil don't need additional clicks as they auto play).
When they've all played, pick one (last one opened if easiest?), and click on the login prompt, you will be credited for all of the tabs you opened. You only need to login once one one of the tabs, I've experimented with 20 tabs running the three autoplay ads above, takes about a minute to boost the MB's at the moment, get it while you can!0 -
Also, seeing as nobody either noticed or understood my post about Opera Turbo...
I got a SIM to use with my old o2 dongle and my ancient netbook, using Opera in Turbo mode is reporting x2.5 to x3 data savings, and it's a very fast regular browser to boot. Monitoring the data usage show it's way down over normal browsing, it works just like Opera mini for smartphones.
I still use Firefox/Safari when I'm on the wifi, but the Opera only for the dongle, I've not used it much beyond testing, but Opera in Turbo mode is !!!!ing fantastic with the Samba SIM. The difference in data usage was already impressive on the phone, but fantastic in a full fat browser.
Tempted to get a MIFI just for the SIM, I'm also very tempted to get a new 11" MBA just for it too :rotfl:0 -
