something well scarey just happened to me, may not sound much but it seemed like it to me, and i think i need to just offload it - if no one minds!
live in not the nicest area in the world and in flat on my own and someone rings the doorbell. obviously not gonna answer at after half twelve at night (have had ppl come round before asking if i'm open for business!!).
so anyway, was a little freaked to say the least (ok it might just be drunks, but no shouting which is what usually happens at that time when its drunks) and was also sure someone was trying the door. so after quick calming down phone chat with a mate i gave the local police a quick call and asked them to drive by.
within 10 minutes they did, and they rang the bell (which freaked me again!) and had a chat and they were so lovely and reassuring. said just phone 999 if anything else happens, etc.
considering all the bad stuff we hear about on the news etc, i have to say they were great. very quick response (esp on a non-999 call) and very thorough.

Don't start me on the Northern Ireland Police. I tired to phone them the other night and was told that no police at all were available as there was a car accident.
What sort of accident is there that all the police in my town have to go to? i asked him.
His reply: Sorry Sir, but no police are available at present.
I hung up! >:(0 -
