Hey guys, I've got a bit of a dilemma,
I've just taken delivery of what I thought was my super ebay bargain from Tuesday. Won a soft carrycot for my pram from Argos ebay outlet for £17.99. Right colour to match pram, brand new, only £1.99 delivery and RRP about £70. Was :j
Anyway, delivery driver has just been and have not been sent what I ordered. The details are correct on the paperwork attached and our address details are on the box. But instead of the soft carrycot, I've been sent a proper hard carrycot, a different colour complete with raincover and blanket. I had been looking at getting one of these but couldn't justify the extra cash as no good deals about and about £150.
Now I don't know what to do. I feel like I should let the Argos outlet know that I've received the wrong item and see what they say. DH thinks as baby not due for a few weeks we should just leave it packaged and wait to see if we hear anything, if not keep schtum.
Just can't help thinking there will be some poor person elsewhere getting a raw deal
Yeh but the person getting the raw deal with get on to Argos and get it sorted out. Whilst I suspect it would probably be too much trouble for Argos to try and trace the missing item.
I would keep it packaged and keep schtum for now.0 -

Just popped on for a lurk - first time in weeks and saw this. My DH came home v drunk and put all clothes inc iphone, wallet in machine as had fallen over..... etc and surprise, surprise, the iphone survived after a full cycle. So, put it in the airing cupboard and try it. Good luck. (0 -

Logie, do you know how Argos e bay works??
They send all the old reduced stock to them at a central warehouse.
The guys there check the box is complete and look for a pic of the item, using old catalogues.
Then they use a pic from that and put a price on the site that they think is fair.
What has happened here is they looked at xxx brand carrycot and found a pic without knowledge of the actual product.
They priced it according to other web sites etc..
This is the only one they have, I bet they don't even have a hard sided one advertised on the site so others have also received a bargain.
Nobody lost out, not even Argos who sometimes sell the items to traders in massive bundles.
Just enjoy, you have just got what we call a bargain!! enjoy, enjoy.0 -
Thanks for all of the advice. I had a little search through 'completed listings' on ebay and argos have sold no other carrycots of the brand I had in the last couple of weeks. So no longer worried somebody else has been sent the wrong one
Will wait and see what happens and be glad of an error in my favour for a change :j♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -

I reckon £50 is standard
I reckon £50 is not enough. Is there not an Ombudsman who can adjudicate on things like this? Got to be worth a Google.0 -
