Oh no, that is awful:(
:T:T:T:T:TWell done to him, totally understand what you are going through, my DS was doing further maths AS last year and now we're just going through A2's. He wanted to do a physics Alevel but at GCSE level it didnt fit into the school curriculum so they agreed to put him in for the exam if he taught himself totally at home, he did and passed and is now on for an A* at Alevel:TJust read your thread to DS and he says to tell him well done for persevering with it:T:T:T:Tand exactly what you said it all suddenly clicks in. Can so understand why you feel so proud;)
Fudgecake that flipping wedding video just had me and Nannylala in floods but the first thing Nannylala said was why didnt they do up her dress:eek::eek::eek:
Thanks Nikki and please pass on my thanks to your DS and tell him good luck from us for his A2's. It very much sounds though like he doesn't need luck though, he has worked very hard and very much deserves his place at Cambridge - Well done to him :T:TIf it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:0 -
I know there was a whole row previously about this thread and a Facebook group and I don't want to go there again, but as a very old hand with MSE and a poster during the DTD days and whenever I have had a bargain/glitch I am very disappointed with the way this thread has moved.
I would probably be classed as a lurker, so be it, but this is an open forum with a very distinct ethos where moneysaving and helping others is at the heart. It is not an "elite", and I think that would be totally against Martin's reasons for setting up the site and against the general spirit of the forum. I think those who consider themselves to be in the know should catch themselves on, it is really rude and arrogant to post about not posting about bargains and implying a secretive group that shares amongst themselves.
I really think this thread has got to the point where the Mods need to make a call on its viability and decide whether it is in keeping with the spirit of the site. You may not like my comments and think well don't read the thread but this whole hidden, secretive nonsense is bringing down the good name of MSE.

The vast majority of people on this thread share every and any finds. But this thread is far more than just sharing bargains.
It's so supportive. Look at how everyone has been so touched by 3Dogs posts. You only have to read Fudge Cakes posts to see what a little community we are. The Free HC campaign....I can't see that happening on any other thread!
Miss Laids socks find has helped nearly everyone here. The people who sit and work out the best way to bring the total of a shop down using coupons. Karly's famous online shop....the list is endless.
It's also lovely to read and take part in the banter and joking, which is also a big part of this thread.
I don't think that makes us at all secretive.....and the Elite bit is all very tongue in cheek....I know I'm not Elite :rotfl:My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -
I think it's best we just let it all go now with the FB group, we don't want to lose this thread and at the end of the day it will happen, and anyway I'm sure the FB deals will filter through one way or another;)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0

evenin' fellow pirates...
In the search for chocs tonight I climbed the shelving to reach down an unopened carton containing 10 x Thorntons choc beer mugs with a 'discontinued' sticker on. Unfortunately went through SS as not on file so wouldn't sell them to me but they are def one to watch.
