I have just been into my local WHSmiths and the deal that was on a few weeks ago wherre if you bought a greetings card and a £10 gift card you got an extra £5 free on the gift card is on again.

Not sure if this is local only but I have just used a couple of my gift cards from last time round to buy a card, some stamps and another couple of gift cards. Here we go again!!!!

Also filled out driving licence renewal form cause the photo is almost OOD:eek:
Where can I get my photo done cheap for my licence?
:) Was going to reply & see ToNik has given the best reply :T
Firstly see on the form where the nearest Post Office is that does do this. Then take your paperpart & your plastic licence + the form (preferably both pages) It is connected directly to DVLA & the new one usually back to you within a week.

Ruxpin you can go to the post office and they take a pic of you and scan the form too. They send it off via email to dvla, costs £24.50 for this service (includes the £20 fee + £4.50 for photo and sending secure)
Should get licence back quicker this way too. I just had to do it as mine expired yesterday
Processed one yesterday that had run out last July :eek::eek: he said he hadn't noticed.....

i fancied ham and beetroot in a french stick for lunch, so i pop down to tesco and get a french stick and a jar of beetroot. come home and i cant find the beetroot. i came to the conclusion i must have left it in the trolley.

i just went to my bag to get recipt out and there was the beetroot. i remember putting it there so i wouldnt break it :o:o

old age here i come. :(:(
:( I know the feeling - 3 times I've been downstairs & everytime I've forgotten to pick something important up :o:mad: right I'll do it now....
    ..

it's now at the top of stairs......... so will probably fall over it :o :rotfl:

Checked em today and still £6 in my store, also checked the Moments both types are still £4.. :(

Thanks for checking - i will definitely be keeping an eye on them as its just strange how they all disappeared all of a sudden.

Can i also ask - someone i don't know who, was talking about "Desert" chocolates a few days ago, i have tried looking for the post but can't find it - were these the thorntons ones ???? as have seen a few boxes here and there, but again in shops without scanners.

Leenie you should be so proud of yourself the reception looks amazing, would love to see more pics when you get a chance.

Magicowen really pleased for you that things went well yesterday xx

Well received the bill yesterday for FIL's funeral, i contacted the Social security and i am absolutely disgusted and shocked to find out that even though he was on pension credits we get no help at all with the bill:eek::eek::eek: Apparently it doesn't matter whether he was absolutely loaded or on benefits how they work out if you are entitled to help is whether we ourselves (the person who arranged the funeral) are in receipt of any benefits. If he was still married his widow would have received a payment of approximately £2,000 which would have gone towards the bill but as hes not married they pay out nothing - not a penny. I just can't believe that there is no help whatsoever available - they are of the attitude well if your not on benefits then you will be able to pay!!! OH hasn't worked for weeks due to nesting season, (you can't work on trees while birds are nesting) so my wages are keeping us going, so god only knows where they think i keep my pot of gold - even when we have been on the bones of our bums we have never claimed any benefits always managed to get work somewhere - even had one job working in a school canteen washing pots etc, not a good move as im just under 6ft tall and the work surfaces/sinks were obviously placed as a height suitable for people of 5ft6 ish well come the end of an eight hour shift i couldn't even stand up straight, i did this for just under a month but had to stop come the end as i was in agony with my back and was near enough crying myself to sleep every night with the pain. Just so flippin angry as have never been a take take take person yet when we ask for help nothing doing!!! i just really hope that OH gets confirmed as being taken on for the clinical trial i was telling you all about as this will help with the bill. Sorry for the rant, just i know you lot are good listeners - big (((hugs))) and love to you all xxx

    No, not a member lol.

I guess I just wish this thread would focus on the more positive aspects, ie helping people to save money, lending a sympathetic ear in times of need... the sort of thing that's mentioned on the very first post, and less on the negative (lurkers, Facebook, and of course, everybody's favourite punching bag, the 'Wenban clan').

The thread is all about real life, and in real life we all have opinions, as you have yours, each of us have ours;)The Wenban clan is definately not this threads favourite punching bag, this threads favourite topic is moneysaving and TBH Judith Wenban has got to be daft if she did that programme and didnt think she'd get stick for it. And trust me she's far from daft;)We all support each other on here and in my opinion I have never found it negative apart from the odd little spat which is going to happen as we are human behind our keyboards;)

I never received a confirmation e mail from The big Lunch, got an 'unsuccessful' e mail from Carling so thought I had missed out. Just checked my e mails and have received one informing me that my Carling will be delivered tomorrow between 8am and 5pm. Will be great if it arrives as having a party at week end to celebrate my birthday and wedding anniversary (got married on my birthday so husband only has one date to remember...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
