No, not a member lol.
I guess I just wish this thread would focus on the more positive aspects, ie helping people to save money, lending a sympathetic ear in times of need... the sort of thing that's mentioned on the very first post, and less on the negative (lurkers, Facebook, and of course, everybody's favourite punching bag, the 'Wenban clan').
One thing I have found (and like) about this thread is that if you have a wish like yours, and you act how you would like your wish to be, then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecyWhich is pretty darn cool if you think about it

bensonsmum wrote: »Well received the bill yesterday for FIL's funeral, i contacted the Social security and i am absolutely disgusted and shocked to find out that even though he was on pension credits we get no help at all with the bill:eek::eek::eek: Apparently it doesn't matter whether he was absolutely loaded or on benefits how they work out if you are entitled to help is whether we ourselves (the person who arranged the funeral) are in receipt of any benefits. If he was still married his widow would have received a payment of approximately £2,000 which would have gone towards the bill but as hes not married they pay out nothing - not a penny. I just can't believe that there is no help whatsoever available - they are of the attitude well if your not on benefits then you will be able to pay!!! OH hasn't worked for weeks due to nesting season, (you can't work on trees while birds are nesting) so my wages are keeping us going, so god only knows where they think i keep my pot of gold - even when we have been on the bones of our bums we have never claimed any benefits always managed to get work somewhere - even had one job working in a school canteen washing pots etc, not a good move as im just under 6ft tall and the work surfaces/sinks were obviously placed as a height suitable for people of 5ft6 ish well come the end of an eight hour shift i couldn't even stand up straight, i did this for just under a month but had to stop come the end as i was in agony with my back and was near enough crying myself to sleep every night with the pain. Just so flippin angry as have never been a take take take person yet when we ask for help nothing doing!!! i just really hope that OH gets confirmed as being taken on for the clinical trial i was telling you all about as this will help with the bill. Sorry for the rant, just i know you lot are good listeners - big (((hugs))) and love to you all xxx
I am so sorry love.... this is so unfair, its being put upon people who has cared and looked after him for years..
I am so very sorry, there's a lesson to be learnt here for all of us.. Make sure you are organised regarding funeral costs...:(:(

I'm such a wally! I saw the carling offer on here & pointed the people in the village organising a BIG Lunch in the direction of it but didnt apply for myself even though I had applied to host a big lunch! What a wally!! Im having a big party for step daughters 18th this weekend so it would have come in handy! My consolation is the village Big lunch are putting 6 bottles aside for me as a thankyou for telling them all about it!!0

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FREE CARLING!
Ah, that's where I read it! Yes, I am your friend, EB.
Nothing like being subtle :rotfl:
You are my friend too....I've been wondering for ages who EB was!! I knew from the posts it had to be someone high up the forum hierarchy
There's a couple I'm unsure of....I also seem to have gained a strange chap who likes to sunbathe in ladies undies too :rotfl::rotfl:My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0
