Thanks for the support, I do mean that. It is weeks of having a perfect OH and then the drink takes hold and boom here we are again. I keep everything from him - even his own account/salary and control everything. His dad won't accept his sons problem (prob as he drinks as well) and gives him subs on his wages despite demanding he doesn't.You truly won't believe how many of us have been in your situation, this is really harsh but unless he gets helps it will probably only get worse:( You shouldnt have to live like that, when I was in a really similiar situation it just became "normal":(Then when I met my 2nd husband and compared the relationship to my first I realised their was nothing normal about it. I likened it to me being the parent and my DH being the naughty child who threw tantrums and went off the rails every now and again. But I was permanently on tenderhooks, never knowing if I could rely on him and hating any social occasion where drink was involved. If he carries on the time will come where you've had enough and something will just click;)but until then sending you hugs xx
hi ausmummy
Nikki is so right - there are lots of us whose lives have been torn apart by the effects of alcohol. It is a very difficult road, especially if you love your OH dearly. Huge hugs for you.
When things have settled a bit and you are feeling calm and brave, then have a google of "enabling alcoholic". It may make uncomfortable reading. Wishing you and your family the best. xxx0 -

That's enough of me now. The only way I get through it is by getting on so hey I have good news. I have finally got a mobile after not having one for the past 3 years. It is sole;y for emergencies and, of course while out shopping. I think it is good news to have one again anyway - I still have a bit of doubt though as it was nice not having one.
edit
I know it's my fault for posting and I am grateful - but I have done these things. I have even looking to going to Al-anon (support for family members of alcoholics).0 -

That is completely how I feel.
I am fully tied in right now. I am tied in for 3 years. I am using this time to get my maths degree. You know it's actually supposed to be our 10 year anniversary this year.
You'll get there, don't worry;) Something truly will click and well done on doing your maths degree:TI'll make you giggle if I tell you how I left my DH;)It was New Years Day, I'd had a carp Xmas as he'd been drunk most of it:(He was asleep(Out of it;)) in the armchair and I just looked at him and thought "I've had enough" So I put a bowl of washing up on his lap (I don't know why:rotfl:) left a letter on the side, took the bathroom mat (Again don't know why:rotfl::rotfl: )and a rubber plant in a black sack and walked out!!!And never went back;)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
Just been out in the garden and planted up 18 trays of T's bedding plants:eek:That cost £4.50 a while back(Each tray was 25p) with 3 plants in each, fuchsias, geraniums, and lots of lovely trailing plants. I've had them in the greenhouse for a few weeks and they are so healthy. Had to keep instructing DH what to do as still not quite at "digging" level with my elbow and then they needed a good drink with the hosepipe spray, whoops I mean watering can;)I love this weather and love gardening but some of my baskets and pots still look so lovely full of pansies I don't want to pull them out yet so might just wait another week:)
beautiful day to be out in the garden wasn't it
i've sorted the bedding plants i got with doubling up a CC voucher last week, long story am sure i've already told it:o last bedding plants we planted last week of april had died by the next day:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: me sis thinks they got frostbitten, we can't think of any other explanation. My T's hanging baskets aren't looking too bad either. However my seeds me and the kids planted in the greenhouse haven't done too great, peas, sweetcorn, cucumber, lobelia, sweet pea, tomoatoes not too bad. Petunias, busy lizzies, chillies, courgettes haven't sprouted:(:(:( tbh i haven't got a ruddy clue what i'm doing, got seeds for 1-p from wilko last yr and kids wanted to have a go. DD is obsessed with checking and watering every night. Hiwever we seem to have a new slug/snail in the greenhouse on a daily basis:eek::eek::eek:, not really sure how to get rid, the green house is made of wire trays so can't phiscally put slug pellets anywhere other than ground level, presume this would sort it?Malaga0034 wrote: »!!!!!! I must have a Mouse in my garage, all my swag is on racking but lately I have got stuff everywhere..
It's ate 3 Terry's chocolate orange,galaxys,dairy milks
,old el paso wraps and taco shells,Whitworth raisins,Snack Mars and Snickers,so god knows what size this thing is now.
It's even started in me Flash Wipes !!!!!! ive chucked a load out and I'm going to have a Major Clean out over the weekend
Honestly you wouldn't get your breath what's its munched through lol
ok this would be my biggest nightmare:eek::eek::eek: poor you, how are you storing your stashed if you don't mind me asking, is it cardboard boxes? my garage stash is so unamanageable right now- i really need to sort more storage, anyone know if i can double up CC vouchers for storage boxes pls??:o:o:o:o:oWhy are OH's so
I save and save to get debts and bills paid and for what!!! For OH to just keep spending what ever he likes on booze. Yes he has a serious drink problem and whenever I think I might get a bit of our debt paid it is gone. Our grocery's are around £80 a month. He's spent £125 that I know about in the last three 3 weeks. Where I'm going to find the money to cover that I don't know. I just hope this latest binge period ends soon.
Sorry to hijack the thread. I'm just so upset.
this is going to sound silly but i can so relate to that apart from the drink, i scrimp and save but got no thanks, actually laughed at and made a public spectacle of at family gatherings, my tescoing always a good subject for the boys to have a good laugh at my expense:o:o:o:o. MY DH subsidised his family for yrs:mad::( at my expense:(:(:(.
I really feel for you, tbh i took mine back again and again for the sake of my parents who said they couldn't cope with another child with a broken marraige:( but also because i thought too weak to cope on my own, however i have lived and learnt. As a GP I have rarely if ever-ok never met any alcoholics who have overcome their addiction:(, it wrecks so many lives. Yes it is an illness but is this what you signed up for? Only you can do what you have to do. There is life away from him, hard as it may seem and you may feel it will be harder without him than with him but only you can make that decision. best wishes xxxxxGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Takes courage but as you say something just clicks and when you are looking at someone and feeling revulsion you know the time has come to act.
