Why are OH's so
I save and save to get debts and bills paid and for what!!! For OH to just keep spending what ever he likes on booze. Yes he has a serious drink problem and whenever I think I might get a bit of our debt paid it is gone. Our grocery's are around £80 a month. He's spent £125 that I know about in the last three 3 weeks. Where I'm going to find the money to cover that I don't know. I just hope this latest binge period ends soon.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I'm just so upset.

I feel for you as my ex husband had a serious drink problem which eventually led to me divorcing him.
We didn't have money worries as he managed to run a business, but the thousands of pounds he must have literally peed up against the wall was heartbreaking.
What got to me was the total refusal to admit he had a problem even though everyone around him was telling him he did.
I lost all respect and ended up loathing the sight of him especially when it affected our children.
Is there any way your OH would see someone about getting some help?
If he won't, I think you need to think very carefully about your options. Living with a drinker is one of the worst things....I really do sympathise with you
    Take care xxx
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

Denial is key in a situation like this unfortunately, and the lies are never ending. I had to stop bailing out DS1, hard tho it was, I did it and felt better for it.
My uncles 3rd wife had heavy drink problems too and she denied it and lied and even had stashes of bottles hidden all around the house after he died.
Heart rending tho it is, a firm stance has to be taken

I so agree and it is heartbreaking but you just have to do it:(For them as well as for your own sanity.

Thanks for the support, I do mean that. It is weeks of having a perfect OH and then the drink takes hold and boom here we are again. I keep everything from him - even his own account/salary and control everything. His dad won't accept his sons problem (prob as he drinks as well) and gives him subs on his wages despite demanding he doesn't.

    Evening all
    What a beautiful day.
I started out with the best intentions. Mowed the lawn and did a bit of gardening then got the sunlounger out while I had a cup of tea.....
Fatal ....Woke up an hour and a half later with my face stuck to the lounger where I'd been drooling :rotfl::rotfl:

    A couple of questions please.....
I did my first ever womble at Asda last night. It was a receipt for £51 odd and was 2p cheaper than T's....however it said because it wasn't 10% cheaper it gave me a voucher for £2.31:T:T
How do they reach that figure? It doesn't show any prices so is it just on the items they compare with T's (It was nearly all booze and crisps....must have been having a party!!)

Also got a £5 off £40 so quite pleased with my first attempt!!

    Second question.
Is the Kosher dept listed on the T's website as such or does it come under world foods?
No mention of kosher within 100 miles of me!!!

Lovely evening so I'm off to sit in the garden with a book and a glass of Magners cider and blackcurrant.....(magners was on offer in T's 20 x 300ml bottles for £11...bargain

How the ASDA Price Guarantee works

If we're not 10% cheaper than Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose on your comparable grocery shopping we'll give you the difference. Guaranteed!

We will always issue a voucher for the largest amount, if we are not 10% cheaper than more than one competitor.
    Example 1
Your comparable grocery shop is £110 at ASDA, £100 at Tesco, £111 at Morrisons, £125 at Sainsbury's and £130 at Waitrose. Tesco are cheapest.
Your comparable grocery shopping is £10 cheaper at Tesco.
10% cheaper than Tesco's £100 comparable grocery shop is £90. As such in total you'll receive a voucher for £20.00 to ensure your comparable grocery shop is 10% cheaper at ASDA.
    Example 2
Your comparable grocery shop is £100 at ASDA, £105 at Tesco, £130 at Morrisons, £125 at Sainsbury's and £135 at Waitrose. ASDA are cheapest, however not 10% cheaper.
10% cheaper than Tesco's £105 comparable grocery shop is £94.50. As such in total you'll receive a voucher for £5.50 to ensure your comparable grocery shop is 10% cheaper at ASDA
    Example 3
Your comparable grocery shop is £100 at ASDA, £120 at Tesco, £125 at Morrisons, £125 at Sainsbury's and £135 at Waitrose. ASDA are cheapest.
In this case your comparable grocery shopping is already 10% cheaper than Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.

Purdita, on the website for a Tesco I'm going to check out tomorrow to try and find some Jam , it shows a list of symbols under 'food ranges' ie, fish counter, chicken counter, meat counter, world foods, Asian, Halal, Kosher etc etc , but as Msgoggins found out, this may not be accurate. :o

Even try a normal search on T.com for Kosher, that worked for me.

I have a quick question for a lovely person willing to give me some advice........... :D Thank you in advance

So I did my first online shopping this week and handed the delivery driver my JTD printout as advised, then was promptly told that he had never been given one but would hand it to his supervisor. It concerned me.

Is there anyone I can call regarding whether or not the JTD has been allotted to my account. I don't want to wait til it appear or does not appear in my account because it was worth almost £20 and should it not have been 'handed', it expires in 2 days.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My old Boss is getting married on saturday.
Wrapped up a heart shaped frying pan (you know the one) Bride & Groom keyring (you know the one) & a Bush DAB radio (you know the one)
Anyway gave them to a friend to give to her yesterday.
Friend has just called round clutching my card which she had removed from bag......
It seems my ex Boss is not marrying the man I thought she was with (for 5 years) :o:o:o
Phew - saved - will buy new card tomorrow & write correct name :D
:eek:Imagine opening the "Mr and Mrs" card and it being addressed to your ex.. funny but not for her new hubby :rotfl:
Well done to your friend for saving the situation!! Don't forget to use your 50p off coupon if your card is from T :rotfl:

You can call CS and either they will contact the store that delivered your shopping or will give you the number to call. The store can then confirm if it has been handed in. I used to do this when DTD started as I never felt confident with just handing them over.
