Story is.........
Have just joined Sky Broadband and am trying to get on board.
On dial up at moment with Telewest (VM). However have been told that I need a wireless router to start up broadband.
Sky says this will cost me £28.50 including postage.
Is this ok?

SKY have embedded the software on their router(firmware) so I would stick with it & at £28.50 it is a good deal!Dave0 -

Ive just shaved off over £30 a month. by switching to talktalk there deal is £21 broadband and 24/7 phone calls. My bill with bt was over £50 a month. So before you commit to sky make sure your guna stay with em !!

Thanks guys................. :grouphug:
I am really not so high tech minded (a bit slow)
The problem is my computer is located in a room where there was only a telewest phone line. Therefore my BT line is in other rooms.
However, the nice lady at Sky told me that I should check my computer first of all to see whether it is 'wireless enabled'?If I had one of these, then I would not need to buy the router. (I think it is a matter of just flicking the switch?)
Where would I find this:huh:
I have a Dell Optiplex GX270  (dont ask)!!0 -

As far as I know the Sky wireless router comes "free" as part of the package, are you sure they are not trying to sell you a USB wireless adaptor for £28 .
If so I'm sure you could pick one up a bit cheaper from somewhere like ebuyer
just make sure it does 802.11g0 -
