Barclaycard credit card taking forever

I put a ppi claim in with Barclaycard Jan this year. I still havent had a decision from them yet. Everytime i rang them & that is quite a few times ,they always had the same scripted reply we are still awaiting more information. However if you wish you can go to the FOS with this, however we hope we can settle this. Well in the last week i have tried to ring them to give them the last chance before i send it to FOS. I have not got through to them yet as i was on hold the longest was for 30 mins .So today i have sent it onto FOS i think i have waited long enough. Reading on here it seems Barclaycard are really dragging there feet . Other banks manage to get back in 8 weeks how come they cant. I think its time they were told to sort themselves out.:mad::mad:

I'm in exactly the same boat as you week 16 now and no furher forward, I rang them yesterday to be told yet again they still cant give me a resolution time and are looking into they told me weeks ago they have all the info they need aarrggghh I also had claims in with NRAM and cap one and both were dealt with within 8 weeks.. As you say why can other companies deal with complaints within 8 weeks but not barclays..as a last bid attempt Ive now emailed the director of barclays before I go to the fos....

i'm in same boat, letters same as yours, managed to get through to them, called them over 4 weeks,to the point of getting annoyed, but some how stayed polite, but said the words "i've had enough of you taking the p###, so see you in court" got letter 2 days later saying we will reply to your claim by 31st of may.
expecting it to say no to my claim, but feel at least i'm getting somewhere.............even if it is to the fos. good luck in your claim. i'll let you know how i go on.

Loads of people are waiting to hear from Barclaycard, last letter i received was the 5th January saying they were sending off for information and have heard nothing since. When I have phoned for an update just told it was still being investigated or still active and just be patient, hard not to get frustratred. I have had all other ppi claims with lloyds, mbna and more all upheld and none have taken longer than 12 weeks. Found another claim with barclaycard loan document in an old filebox which is from 2001 and have the actual agreement which shows it was a single premium payment insurance but frightened to send off until the other is sorted.
I have always complained about not requiring the ppi as i was a Nurse working in the NHS for many years with reasonable sick pay and redundancy conditions also have a serious genetic heart condition which nobody has questioned, should i mention the single payment premium in my complaint? as have read this a few times but is it a reason for complaining.
Will let you know my outcome from Barclaycard if i ever get a response, not going to bother phoning anymore as the call centre dont seem to know anything so just wasting money, last call was just told I must be nearly at the top of the pile lol. Must admit will be bored when the claiming of ppi has finished. I probably like most people just thought it would be a waste of time claiming until one of the other Nurses let me know how easy it was and how much she had received, now I tell everyone. Strange how thanks to ppi I am now for the first time in years debt free and looking forward to my third holiday this year in a couple of weeks with a trip to New York planned for Christmas courtesy of St Andrews insurance and my little old Clio.

rang barclaycard to ask what the contents of the letter were, and my claims been rejected, they cannot find any evidenve of mis selling blah blah blah, so its off to the FOS we go after a very long wait with barclaycard and now an even longer wait ahead.....

i'm expecting the same response ,but always hopefull......just does my head in how with a percentage they pay out within the time limit, and others who its clear have very good cases to,they mess them about for months and months, giving them the idea that you will win,but they just need more time to sort out info, then when the time comes, laugh in your face, and you have to start all over again down the fos route.............. GIVE US ARE MONEY BACK,ITS ARE MONEY ,YOU CONNED US OUT OF IT,SO GIVE IT US BACK ,IF WE DID IT TO YOU ,WE'D GET A FEW YEARS IN JAIL...GGGGRRRRRRRRRR.

Couldn't agree more kjd35aqua I'm sure I read on here not so long back barclays have a 99% overturn rate with the fos and recieved the highest amount of complaints proving theyre not treating there cutomers fairly in ppi mis selling complaints' I remeber this cos capital ones overtun rate with fos is only 11% and my hubbys just had his complaint upheld by cap one....
