What model printer have you got?
ESP 5250
It doesn't ask me what printer model I have, I just run the file and it asks me if I want to update, remove or modify the software.
Doesn't matter what I pick it then goes to a window which says connecting to server and that is it.0 -
Downloaded from your link selected custom installation have got this far.0

I have just tried it and the install runs fine with it downloading the various bits as required. I suggest that you check your firewall as it may be blocking the app as it tries to get the files. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Have you tried control panel to remove all Kodak software or same thing in Device Manager0 -
So it must be me then.
I turned off my firewall and all antivirus software and tried again and same thing, any further suggestions?0 -
one more thing if you've removed from device manager and control panel try running the installer with the printer DISconected0

i think Kodak is in administration atm, so it will be interesting to see if you get a timely response.
Anyway, not sure why you are 'updating your printer software',
if it is working Ok, might be an idea to leave it,
but here is my experience helping someone with a fresh install.
Don't follow all the steps if yours is already working!
I helped someone fairly recently to install a Kodak printer onto a XP SP2 machine.
They had a disk but although it ran and brought up a menu, it wouldn't install the full software, kept producing a windows error.
So we went online, got the aio_install, ran that, which chains the main install, but it still produced the same error.
Googling the error produced lots of hits associated with Kodak, but no working solution.
So we decided to take another approach, just install the drivers, not all the extra bloatware.
But it wouldn't let us when it found the other installation.
So this is what we did,
Remove the printer from the USB,
We used Revo uninstaller to remove the Kodak program, but if you don't use that, just go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs,
Re-boot the pc then be sure to switch off all firewalls,
run that aio_install file again, which chains the main install,
That should bring up the Kodak install menu
Carefully read all the options and when given the option of what software to install,
Remove the checks against Kodak Aio Home Center
and Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
just leaving checked:
Kodak Aio Drivers (Required) and
Kodak Aio Printer Software essentials (Required)
That should install ok, but you must drop all firewalls, Windows and third party, to be sure you're not blocking anything.
When that finishes, reboot with the printer connected,
The found new hardware wizard should run and find the installed driver ok

But it isn't, that's why I am trying to update it.
It was Kodak who sent me the link and told me to update the software.Remove the printer from the USB,
It is connected wirelessly.0 -

Ok, good enough reason,
Excellent, so some people are still around.jannowretired wrote: »It is connected wirelessly.
Well, switch off the printer, or disable WiFi temporarily,
i assume you only want or need to install the drivers and not the extra bloatware?
Once you switch off the printer, see how far you get with my earlier post..

I don't know if it was driver related or bloatware related but when I did a scan from the computer it only scanned as 8.5 inches by 11 inches instead of A4 and the bottom of the page was missing even though I changed the settings to A4.
Yet if I used the copy function and scan function directly from the printer it scanned as A4 so according to Kodak it was the software that needed updating.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the software with the CDRom in the drive and now I am getting the sizes as metric instead of the previously imperial sizes so it would seem that when I previously installed the software from the CDRom when it automatically updated it must have updated from the wrong country or something like that.
Everything seems OK now.0
