If I make a suggestion to flobber.
If you wish to work out the chances of winning you should start by keeping a daily record of all of the daily winners. I have done this since July last year on a database. (My reason for this was due to the frequency of names appearing). When you feel that you have a large enough collection of stats then you can work it out, but only if you know how many people are entering the competions eachday. I did contact PB and ask them and published the reply on this forum.
If you want to enter the competitions to be in with a chance to win then do so. If you think that your time spent entering the competitions is not worth the possible reward then why are you wasting your time asking all these questions when you will get no reward for it.
Thanks to all the regular posters I spend around 1 min eachday doing PB now by checking the 2nd post in the thread. If I win then so be it. If I don't then so be it. At the end of each year without entering anything you should make about £40 minimum from the site if you do all the CT's and the weekly points questions.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. If probability of winning every month is close to 1 then I would find a time, if not then not.
Cannot be any simpler.
All I needed was your help in assessing that probability, and not a rant about luck (nobody really knows what luck is - i.e. what it depends on).
Big thank you to those of you who helped me. :T
I think the problem the people on here have in answering your question Flobber, is (as I think DS has already said) we don't have the full statistics at our finger tips.
As I am sure you appreciate, to properly calculate the probability of winning you'd need the figures of how many people in total (as opposed to merely the number of people through here) enter each competition, though naturally I am sure there is so much fluctuation in this figure alone calculating would be tricky. To ask people on this forum will only give you an incredibly vague representation of the likelihood of winning, as there are other forums that offer the answers every day & therefore we don't even know what sort of a proportion of pigsback's members are even represented here.
To give you the info you seem to want from each of us though, I have regularly been taking part in the daily contests since December & have won once. Hope you manage to work out what you wanted.
P.S Thanks to all who share the answers & competitions they have found on Pigsback, I know the likelihood of me winning is incredibly slim but it is the taking part I enjoy.

my attitude is you have to be in it to win it, ive been with pigsback since dec 2006 and have had £30 in vouchers and won 1 comp, if i didnt enter i wouldnt have won at all..its the excitement of seeing your name there and/or seeing the points in your piggybank that i enter for...and if i lose (as i do most days) then all its taken is 5 mins of my time to enter and nothing else...0

I've checked the first page and there is a new question for this comp.
