A few times in what period of time? I know about chances, I want the statistics. How often one person usually wins? Is it once a month or only once a year or even less often?
with firefox i open up all the quizs in tabs and run though answering them, takes me less then 2minsYes Your Dukeiness0 -
You say that people here don't have a time to say whether they won once a year or maybe 5 times a year?
Or they want to conceal it?
No, you said you didn't have time to keep a log to work out the frequency. Well, neither do I! Asking people to say how often they win is not terribly reliable... people may be more or less likely to answer depending on whether they're very pleased at having won 5 times in the last month or annoyed that they never have :rotfl:
Personally I see a lot of posts along the lines of 'I've only been registered a few weeks and I've won a competition' etc... maybe I just notice them but there do seem to be lots of pigsback newbies who win and I, as an old timerhave lost hope! No doubt they've realised by now that I'll keep using the site even without the reward of a win
Not to suggest that the choosing of winners is anything other than scrupulously random, of course....Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. You are (partly) wrong. There is no scientific definition of luck, so I can't argue about that, but there is probability calculus. Depending on how many people are participating, and how many competitions there are, the frequency of winning can vary from - let's assume - once a year per person to several times a month per person. It is in my opinion huge difference. Hence was my question. If people here who play regularly win on average once a month then perhaps it is worth to join them, but if they win only once a year or even less often, then for me it is not worth to bother.
So, please, express everyone honestly your experience of frequency of winning.
I havent won any quizzes since joining last November, but had £60 worth of vouchers just by clicking and collecting points.
well worth the couple of minutes a day of my time...
if you are so bothered about spending time & stats etc...dont bother doing it.0 -
Just 80 more points and I can get my 1st £10 voucher - and I haven't spent a penny!

There's nothing to conceal. The PB threads are absolutely littered with posts saying, "I won!"
You don't have to be rude to other contributors, suggesting they need to go back to school. Goonieman is correct in saying that the draws for winners mean that winning is a random event, in the sense that it is down to luck. There is no frequency of winning.
As someone has said merlin139 used to post some info on here about repeat winners, and it did seem to happen quite often. However, the number of members of PB is growing, and so frequency of winning, if there were such a thing, would be falling.
Unfortunately, like a lot of the more interesting posters on here, merlin has disappeared.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -

To me, Pigsback is just a bit of fun..... it's an easy way to rake up a few pounds for just 5 or 10 minutes clicking a day. Half the fun is checking my piggy bank each morning as I wait for the kettle to boil. If I've won something - great. If I haven't.. it's no big deal.
I'm not remotely interested in the odds of my winning this, that or the other.
It's supposed to be fun, right?
Pam
PS Edited to add.. thanks to those who very kindly post the answers to the comps each day!0
