I'm a fascist when it comes to noise. I can't understand why people have to go about their business so noisily. I was in the supermarket the other day, someone was queuing behind me and trying to attract the attention of their friend who was at the other end of the shop. She must have screamed 'Stacey! Stace! STACEY!' in my ear about a dozen times before I turned round and asked her not to.

In Blockbusters the other day, watching a mother, small child, and some other random woman select a DVD. All three communicated by shouting at the top of their voices. 'WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE?' 'NAH, ALREADY SEEN IT' 'WHAT ABOUT THIS INSTEAD?' 'MAYBE. I'LL ASK MUM. MUM! MUM! MUM! WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE?'.

On the train a while back. Lad next to me gets his phone out. Doesn't bother with the headphones, oh no, he just listens to his wank music on the phone's poxy little speaker. It's tinny and underpowered, and train's can be a little noisy, so he just cranks it up as far as it goes, then starts tapping away on the table, and stamping his feet on the floor in time to the beat.

Why the !!!! can't people just be a bit quieter?

It's their ooman rights innit... can do wot they want like.

Simple lack of consideration for others because of this culture(virus?) of self-entitlement.

So many things but here are the common ones that always irritate me!

Apologising to someone who bumped into you (I always apologise for everything, regardless of whether it's my fault or not) and that person ignoring you/ giving you a dirty look for daring to be in their way.

Similarly crossing the road/zebra crossing after looking both ways and then having a car come along that beeps at you for daring to be in the road. Yesterday I did this to have a car going far too fast come hurtling round the corner, slam the breaks on and then beep their horn at me whilst I stood there in shock.

People who pass by you when you hold the door open for them, without thanks and certainly without taking the door off you. Even more annoying when that one person multiples and you're stuck there like a lemon.

Nothing riles me more than someone talking to me and chewing gum at thesame time, It drives me absolutely nuts. I wonder how they would feel if i spoke to them with a mouthful of sunday lunch.

Dont start me off on tongue studs either, they really do make me feel physically sick I have to turn away.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I said "Hello" and "Goodbye" to over 300 people yesterday (it's part of my job) and only about 30% of them replied. The rest did not utter a word, nor did they even give any eye contact. I would think that replying to someone is basic manners, but evidently not.

The above part of my job involves when these people enter/leave a "vehicle", so I'm not selling/pestering or anything like that ;)

I take your point - but to be honest, I often find it annoying. Are you saying "goodbye" because you actually wish me well or because the training manual says you must say it to every passenger? With some people it's genuine - but with some it's so clearly mechanical that it's insulting.

I've heard tales of shop assistants saying "Missing you already" as a customer leaves a shop (maybe American, maybe urban legend) and that would put me off ever going back.

So maybe that falseness is a cause of some people not responding even when you're being genuine.
I need to think of something new here...

I don't know if mine falls under manners but the one thing that drives me crazy is people eating in supermarkets.

I can understand small children ect but an adult can honestly not be that hungry that they need to walk around the store eating. Just wait till you get to your car.

I think the another annoying thing about this is how often do they actually pay for the stuff they have eaten

The rest mine are the usuals not saying thank you ect

Also i work part time in a bar/resturant and the amount of rude obnioxous people I get in there is beyond a joke. They seem to think cause i'm a bar maid i deserve no respect and that i'm stupid. Clicking your fingers at me, saying oi! to get my attention or waggling money in my face is going to get you put to the back of the queue sorry but it will. Also any talking down to me or talking slowly so I can understand will be treated with the contempt it deserves

People who, when you hold a door open for them, breeze through without a word or, indeed, any acknowledgement.

Older people are by far the worse for this.

That is one of my biggest bug bears as well!..

i often open doors for people and one thing that really annoys me is people wholl quite happily barge past an elderly women or a lady with a pushchair just to get through the door

the ones who dont say thanks i usually say out loud a thanks would be nice
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you
