Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 17th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone
Good Morning chums ,I woke this morning to an achy throat and my nose is running like the Thames so not a good start to the day.I have the school run this morning then I have to pick two of my DGS Henry and Mikey up at 12.30 as its Assension day and they have a half day off today. So it will be back to their house and an afternoon of keeping them amused.I am staying at DDs for dinner tonight as today is my late OHs birthday and we still 'celebrate' by having a family meal and talking to the grandchildren about him and all the daft things he got up to.All of them, apart from Mikey, can remember him so they all chip in quite a bit.its a way of saying that he's never forgotten. He would have been 79 today bless him and probably still as daft.
NSD for me today as I am keeping as much as I can to the f/fasting and today is day five of seven, fingers crossed.
I think I'll take some 'crafty bits round with me at lunchtime as the little one loves to draw and make things.
Hope you all have a peaceful day
Cheers chums JackieO xxx

Morning JackieO and all who follow,Cleaner coming this morning. Going to my cousin for lunch.
Should have gone to a relative's meeting for my Dad last night, and I got the date wrong, I had tonight written down. Was too tired last night as had DGD all day. Will have to read the minutes instead!
The wallpapaer stripping is now up to my height, need to get the steps out now:rotfl:
Watched DIY SOS last night. In tears at the end. Most of you will remember that my Mamma had MND, so it was especially hard for me.:o
Weight is still going down. 11stone 5lb now. Want to get under 11 at the moment, then (hopefully ) down to ten and a half.:)
JackieO Enjoy your memories, we do the same for Mamma, and now we have the added joy that DD's anniversary will always be on amma's birthday too.
Have a good day all.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hilstep, Diy SOS was so sad, that poor family x
Not raining here, but looks like it might later, washing is on the airer on the conseratory.
Lame W we bought the de-humidifier for the condensation on the windows too, hopefully in the winter it will start to earn its 'keep'
Off to work today, then tonight its fish cakes chips and peas and a delivery from Mr T.
My dd got chatted up in town yesterday, a young chap said to her 'will you take me home with you' and dd said 'yes do come, my mother would love to meet you' :rotfl:
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Cloudy, dull and chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was roast chicken pieces, mash, veg and gravy, swiss roll for those that had room. Tonight it will be spag bol, but I need to buy more spag - so will go to the SM first thing as I need to buy a sympathy card too. Need to get stuck in to all the jobs today - as always lots to do, so will do my best to get it done. Will have to use the TD as just not warm enough or windy enough to get anything dry on the line! Will be writing menu plan and shopping list so I can do food shop tomorrow - am running out of lots of things.
Another NSD yesterday - must be a record for me - 3 days in a row!!
Need to crack on otherwise nothing will get done.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Beemuzed - sincere good wishes and prayers from a stranger
And hugs to everyone.
Why I don't really post here - last night we were supposed to having chicken crumble. Unfortunately the buses did not play nicely so we got in really, really late from little bear's piano lesson. Everyone was already at home and darling father (who now lives with us) was stuffing himself with a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal, and immediately handed over a large pack of popcorn chicken to little bear who started wolfing it down. As the popcorn chicken isn't pure lard and sugar, I let him get on with it. At this point OH is nearly faint from hunger, so we end up getting another takeaway to split. Not Old Style.:o:o:o:o Also really bad for purse and figure.
Piano lesson - not as pretentious as it may sound. Little bear is in Reception, reading Year Two books and finding it all too easy. I am desperate for him to actually have to work at something, and he enjoys thirty minutes where he is the sole centre of attention. Last night he slaughtered Old MacDonald and murdered Mary has a Little Lamb.
Washing already on, planning an ironing day. Hope the chicken is still fit. If not, no idea what food is going to appear at tea time. Hope everyone has a good day.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Is it morning already? Was reall enjoying that sleep.
Have a good day of memories jackieo and hope the cold goes
1st meeting of the day postponed which is a relief as have one no prep for it or meeting 2 so guess that's what i'll be doing this morning. But meeting 1 was with linemanager to apply for membership to a professional body so mustn't let that drift! Om just checked what i gotta write -6000 words -most definitely better get started as want to get it in by end of may.
Not going out tonight (mon was work do, tues band practice, wed bible study and fri playing for a Ceilidh) but 4th working lunch in a row. No wonder i'm so tired and OH has forgotten who I am :rotfl:

I feel really rubbish this morning, not sure if it's because i'm tired, ill or both. I'm going to hand my dissertation in in a minute, then get the train home for the funeral tomorrow. Can't really think of much else to say other than AERGGGGGGGGGGG:eek:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
