If 'Janet' is the lady (I use the word loosely) I encountered after I had done what the OP suggested then I 'wouldn't go there!'.
Around 10 of us (10 cars) were on our way back from le Mans last year and I had, stupidly, tried the same trick. The other 9 cars were waved on however I was singled out (much to the amusement of the others) and sent back to the booking office with credit card in hand. Ended up that I paid much more due to the 'late' booking.0 -
Right I now have an update
I rang up to change and amend the bookings as I now diddnt want to take the chance
the lady on the phone said that I diddnt have to FOR A THIRD TIME
anyway I either wanted an email to confirm this or I was going to pay the extra for the amendment, i just diddnt want to take the chance
on the emails I received from dfds one of their employees slipped up and offered me a refund by accident ........... so i used this against them
I have just received a FULL refund for the TWO bookings and was told to rebook what I wanted with no administration charges at all
id like to say that I have gotten off very lightly and it could have been a costly mistake
in future I will read past experiences first
thanks for all the warnings that you have all given me as if I had not been given them I could have been swimming the channel back !!
thank you again
