How would this editor distinguish between decent and indecent pictures? :)

Any attempt to define either term would be an endeavor fraught with peril; even if such a program existed it would most certainly not cater to everyone. ;)

    Anything here of interest?

BTW, have you taken a look at this? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3949459 It's so funny; Mrs Angry has found cheating hubby's £700 phone bill but the thread has turned into a spat that would challenge Relate!

GIMP is worth a look. Not used it very much myself but heard good things. As close to Photoshop as you're going to get without opening your wallet.

    My 2d worth:
Picasa - Easy to use and does the basic fixes which are a must:.
Redeye reduction, crop, straighten, sharpen, fill light, retouch, colour temperature, colour and contrast tuning, Text addition and a bunch of effects like soft focus.

If you want more then Paint.net and Gimp come recommended on this forum. As they do more then expect a learning curve!

Picasa will probably do for your purposes

GIMP is powerful, which means it has features which are beyond what most people will ever use (layer masks etc). If you want decent as in powerful, use GIMP.

If you are making fliers, it might be worth looking at something like inkscape (open source, free download) which allows you to layout text and images etc, move them around, change font etc. Image editing programs might not give you this flexibility as once you've put an image on the page and some text etc, then sometimes its not easy to shuffle it around afterwards, if you know what I mean.

Would post a link to the download but apparently I might be spamming! Have a google for inkscape.

    Alternatively, Scribus. :)
  • If you have MS Office on your PC, it may be worth downloading and trying MS Publisher, this sometimes works on your Office keys with no extra cost.
