Cat carrier advice

Anyone got any recommendations for decent carrier for average sized mogs? GR, I know I want to avoid the one you have where the handle drops out so remind me what brand that is!

I carry two of mine around the country on a regular basis when they go to cat shows, and I can thoroughly recommend the cabrio carrier:

It is top opening so easy to get cats in and out of (you can open it at the front as well if you prefer); it's sturdy and roomy enough (especially if you remove the water/food containers). It's also designed so that car seat belts easily fit round it.

I've got other carriers too, but my cats have travelled hundreds of miles in these (one per cat) and I've nothing but praise for it.

PS - you can get different colours - Spot has an orange one and Lula has a pink one ;)

PPS - Zooplus is not the cheapest place to buy this, last time I looked it was cheaper on very.co.uk and rising from the ashes got it from somewhere much cheaper than Z+ too (it was another pet website but I can't remember which one!)

Paddypaws - I got cabrio like Friday cat and would never get it again (sorry Friday cat), the size is crap (all my cats are a bit above average but still - it was supposed to carry up to 10kg), the handle is crap as it pinches your hand where the 2 parts of the handle meet. I got mine from Very.

Got 3 carriers at home now - you want to borrow one you know wher I am....

The one that you mean that is much bigger than cabrion but has a total crap handle as the carrier fits Teddy (and half) but the handle pops out with the weight of any cat.. no idea what make it is, nothing written on it but I elieve it is an Argos one.

We bought oursyonks ago, so I can't be 100% certain about the sizing, but I think this is the one we have:

    http://www.ferplast.com/scheda_prodotto_eng.php/prodotto=/id_item=73008199/id_menu=02020106

It fits a large Yorkshire Terrier cross in comfortably, and would fit two cats if they were friendly. It fits four ferrets comfortably.

I like it because it's sturdy when assembled, and it stores with the top nested in the bottom (with the door mesh sandwiched in between for safety). Ours is getting tatty now as we've had it for so long and it has lived for LONG stretches in the garden (oops! Bad zookeeper!) but I would recommend this style :)

You don't have to apologise, we all have our own views ;) but I carry my cats some distance sometimes from the car to the exhibition hall, one in each hand & a big supplies bag on my shoulder, and I've never personally experienced any pinching where the handles meet with either of them.

I'd agree for a very large cat they may be too small. But they fit my Harry cat comfortably and he's just under 6kg (which I consider to be a cat on the large side, though not as large as your tribe, GR :rotfl:)
