The Great Global Warming Swindle?

The program was remarkable, in that so many members of the general public have been utterly convinced by it. Very cleverly done. Guys, this is NOT peer reviewed science, it's was a one sided piece - by a biased film maker who has a questionable background wrt to his productions. Is it a coincidence he has links to the Revolutionary Communist Party, which is anti-environmental? I'm not on one side of the fence or the other in terms of the underlying argument, I'm more interested in the TRUTH, and like most of you I'm not a climatologist so I have to defer to those with more expertise.. but do try and think a little before you buy into compelling TV like this because it's not science - it's "ENTERTAINMENT". You should know that some of the data (eg. graphs) displayed on the program have been shown to be inaccurate or misleading, if not doctered. Come on people... engage your brains..
Have a look at these links for further information. They may open your eyes

Not true P.J.D.....the thing that stops me joining The Green Party, is their left wing bias......http://manifesto.greenparty.org.uk/.
Fair shares for all, what sort of rubbish is that.0 -
Not sure what you think is not true Ken, but you may well be right about the Green Party. If you believe James Lovelock it's too late to stop global warming, we can only slow it down.0

Thank you to those people who actualy used this thread the way it was intended. I am unsubscribing as so many people seem to feel the need to post things along the lines of:
- You are stupid to believe one documentary.
- You are all being unscientific.
- You are just looking for excuses to be lazy and do nothing about the environment.
Despite the fact that this was not the purpose of the thread. In fact the way many posters have responded kind of illustrates one of the points that the programme inspiring this thread made and I do not want to have a part in it.0 -
I see. So because I disagree with you, I've been brainwashed? I could equally argue that you have been brainwashed by this documentary instead.I see youve been BRAINWASHED like the rest.
It's strange that you are so defensive if you already contribute to reducing climate change. We are all constantly barraged with messages telling us to do things, whether we do them or not; it's just something we have to live with. Its people just like you that have sickened me with all your we are right and you are wrong attitudes.I do recycle etc,but i resent some stranger telling me what i should and shouldnt do, just to make them feel better.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
I don't feel I get told what to do by the green lobby. I did used to feel barraged with messages telling me what to do when I used to watch TV but they mostly were telling me I had to buy things to make me happy or so people would think I was cool. I still get that form magazines and billboard and on the radio but there's something about TV ads that is particularly intrusive. Maybe people have become so use to the pressure to consume that it has become normal to them and it is the much smaller anti-consumerist movement that they notice.0

No i have not been brainwashed by the Doc,ive been brainwashed by people like you who criticise others for not being a slave to the enviroment and who costantly shove your opinions in everyone elses face and accuse others of being selfish if they dont conform to the green norm. If you want to save the planet do so but dont expect everyone to follow, and accept that each person is free to make their own decisions regarding the planet. Now im off to shrug of my sack cloth and stop being a martyr to others expectations.0 -
for a good interview, that shows how global warming believers think there better then everybody else, and know EVERYTHING, listen to the interview with "Sir Jonathan Porrit"

Nobody knows for certain what is causing global warming but it is certainly happening. Its probable that mankind is accelerating the process and with world population predicted to rise by 50% in the next half century and rising standards of living demand for resources and will grow as will pollution. The wildlife and wilderness environment will be be eliminated. We will see drought, famine, desertification, disease, war and strife and human population eventually restored to a more sustainable level.
Don't worry about it. Nothing can stop it. Just enjoy the present.0
