I want it a bit warmer, anyway. And if I had the money I would be buying an estate in Yorkshire or The Borders whilst prices are cheap.

But you may find it gets an awful lot colder (at least in the winter) if global warming causes the Gulf Stream to stop.

TBH i am so sick of all things enviromental, every where you turn theres some one ramming it down you throat. Its like some kind of cult with all the greenies worshiping the green enviromentalists.I found the prog on Thurs a refreshing change from the usual bombardment of doom and gloom regarding climate change, and it certainly gave me some food for thought.

Just because you're sick of all things environmental because of the way you and I are destroying the environment, and people are actually realising just how utterly selfish this is?

Has anyone considered strapping a huge rocket to one side of the Earth and moving the earth a few metres away from the sun?

COME ON PEOPLe, it's a simple but effective idea.
If I had words to make a day for you,
I'd sing you a morning golden and new.
I would make this day last for all time,
Give you a night deep with moonshine.

Whilst you are undoubtedly correct; I question if all this green hysteria is the best way of achieving the aim that you and, any thinking person, is trying to achieve.

Trying to 'lay the finger of guilt' on someone because he doesn't recycle his toenail clippings;) or takes a holiday abroad by aeroplane(shock) or leaves a TV on standby, is counter-productive. There is a certain irony that these criticisms are typed on a PC connected to the internet -how wasteful is that?

Another aspect is that blatant profiteering by companies climbing onto the Green bandwagon is condoned; for to criticise anything with environmental pretensions is considered heresy.

All this will inevitably lead to a backlash.

Good point - PCs started gaining mass-acceptance and usage from the mid-80s, now every company and home has many more heat-generating gadgets. As CO2 seems to have been trailing warming for some time, is it excess heat forcing the CO2 increase - will it drop back when we all change from CRTs to LCDs?

I'm still undecided about the drop in temperatures from the late 40s to the 80s - anyone seen a good explanation of that - did it drop due to pollution, then increase when we started cleaning things up?

I do not believe in global warming, it is part of the earths natural cycles, the dinosaurs did not drive 4 by 4's and recycle but they were wiped out and guess what we are still here years later.
But i do turn everthing of and don't buy into consumerism. It makes sense to turn things of and turn your heating down, saves you money on fuel bills and if you use things till they are on there last legs you are also saving money.
What is the point of recycling when it goes of to china in a big boat, to be sorted. The gets turned into something new, more fuel lost and shipped back over here.
Same as the cars, surely it costs more co2 to charge an eletric car up then to run on biodiesel like we do, you are better not using your car at all.

The channel 4 program was very well done and if a few more scientists break ranks and speak out about the CO2 driven global warming will we not be in a position to ask for any taxes taken in the name of global warming to be repaid. It also seems time to start writing to our MPs questioning every main partys stance on this subject, in my opinion they have all spotted GW as great earner and the hard of thinking seem keen to pay up.
