Interview was a waste of time :( Wasnt even an interview.. just got handed a clipboard and told to fill in the 2 page application.. which included questions such as "how tall are you?" and "how many children? and what age are they?" NO part for qualifications or experiance (only a list of past employers names and addresses) and the man who gave me the form was just a van driver with the company ( )!! He told me i was applicant 53 this week.. and another 15 coming later.. but id have no chance cos i didnt have 5 or 6 years as a secetary... the ad didnt state anything about that - just said some experiance of an office environment which i have. Also basically told me because i fill shelves at the moment i must be too stupid and wouldnt have a chance! His words were "Had all sorts in.. lapdancers, kareoke singers, kids who have come straight from school, shelf stackers, and housewives.. dont want any of them! The boss is looking for an experianced older woman with 5-6 years experiance at least with no kids.. cos they just get in the way!" Couldnt believe it, specially as id called in work sick and lost a days wage to go! Plus maybe risking the job i have now :(:o Wasted £19.50 on clothes in asda last night too so id look presentable cos i wanted this job so much!! Feel so disheartened.. i keep thinking things are looking up.. then i get kicked in the teeth again. Dont know why i bother anymore.. nothing seems to go right for me.

hi hi hi, haven't read the thread (again - sorry) but I'm very excited and had to tell someone lol. I set up a new ebay account and new spreadsheets and everything for my cards and I've just had my first sale AND WHY WON'T THE PIGGING SMILIES WORK FOR ME GGGRRRRRRR LOL. I've got posh new compliment slips (well they're not posh really but I set them up just for my new ebay account). My pc crashed this morning and I had to reinstall everything but the printer won't work now so I can't use my not-posh slips. I don't care. Tru wanders off to dance round the kitchen to Madonna's Confessions.......LOL

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

Penny Pincher - I'm so pleased about your new cleaner! :j :j

N9eav - I hope that your DD gets well soon

scuzz - hope your mum is ok

catowen - I'm so pleased that you've heard from your friend. Has she sent you pics yet? Ask her to, then you'll be able to imagine her life there when she talks about it.

(((moggins))) take care and just try to relax this weekend.

    johanne (((hugs)))

(((hugs))) to everyone else that needs them. I'm sorry I haven't got a pen and paper to note things down before I type! :j :j and  to all those people celebrating.

I had yet another lovely morning at a lovely school that I go to. They finish at 1pm on a Friday, so I popped to Mr T's afterwards and got some yellow sticker turkey, that I will portion up for stir fries. Oh yes, and some tinned tomatoes for the chilli for tonight.

I was pretty mad when I got home. Through the letter box was a card saying that a courier company had tried to deliver my Amazon parcel, but there was nothing written on it whether they had left it with a neighbour or taken it back to a depot. Nor was there any phone number to call. It was only when I popped out to get the minced beef from our butcher (for the chilli) that I noticed a brown package under the bush in front of our house. Lo and behold, there was my Amazon parcel! It's a good job that I had seen it, otherwise it would have been ruined by rain. Ok, so it's not raining at the moment, but the ground is pretty soggy.

There was a nice surprise too. I hadn't checked my bank account today, as I got paid for last week's work. It looks like I've had a bit of a tax rebate, so my pay was more than I was expecting. :j :j I've put some of it straight into my car savings account. :j :j It's beginning to look quite healthy. Knowing my luck, as soon as I've paid off the car, it'll be time for it's major service so I'll have to ensure that money is put aside for that.

Thinking of catowen's friend in Oz, I've got a distant cousin who lives in Canada. We've been writing to each other since her grandmother (now sadly dead) came over to England to visit her cousin - my grandmother! 14 years later, we're still writing to each other. The other day, I got a wonderful letter from her, with pictures of her wedding 3 years ago and now their little 18 month old girl. That's another thing that we're trying to save up for.... to visit and finally meet my cousin!

I'll have to go and make the house look a little more presentable for DH's friend.

Well this thread's sunk a bit below the belt today  :D

Computer not fixed, but it's working fine now so we probably get them to look at it after we get back from Ireland.

Nels Have a great time at the mini-meet. The ankle biters won't bite that much. :D

    Fab news Tru. Well done.:T
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi everyone.
It's my favourite time of the week...Friday evening :j :j
W**k today was hectic, lots of things breaking eg sink in classroom and lots of weird behaviour from the children...don't ask!
Anyway a lazy night tonight, chippy tea followed by chocolate treats in front of the tv. :T
    Have a good evening.
