Ted Bloke, when I can't find something I know is there it's usually because it was more than a week ago and I've been caught out by the default search time period.
Frugal McDougal, double-click on the errors icon in the bottom left of IE and say what it says. It sounds as though javascript is disabled, perhaps because the site is in your restricted sites list. Worth looking at Tools/ Internet Options / Security tab/ click on Restricted Sites, click on Sites button to see if forums.moneysavingexpert.com is present. What are the small windows you referred to? Quick Reply? That probably uses a cookie to remember the setting and that wouldn't work if the site is in the restricted sites zone.0 -

Whenever I try to press the "Thanks" button, I just keep getting redirected to the top of the page, and the thanks doesn't even register.0

Perhaps a trivial one, but when I minimise the site from having been on any board at all, it seems to store "MoneySaving Old Style" in the base line address/restore bar. I have just tested this, having been in many other boards since I last looked at Old Style, but it still retains Old Style as the site address.
It's probably to do with the cache thing you have explained about, but thought I'd mention it anyway.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Frugal McDougal, go to forum options and at the bottom of the page, note the message editor interface setting. If it is not set to Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls, change it to that and save changes. If still no success, try each option inturn to see what happens.0

The Search function was always pants and is still pants. Pick any word or phrase from a post so you know it is there and then do a search for it. About 1 in 4 times you find it. I don't understand how they design such a system, one that did it 0% or 100% of the time OK, but 25% must have been hard to set up.0
