I just click the enter button so don't need to look again. If I want to know I actually entered it shows on "show me" click :)

i agree, as some comps look good but u find they are in the wrong area, or too much effort etc, it would be nice to have a skip button so as not to keep clicking on them all month lol

Think it's a good idea. Probably best to post it here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50

This is what I do, I green tick every one I look at so I don't repeat but only click thanks on the ones I enter so I know I've entered it x

I dont know about you lot but i start by doing the competitions with good prizes that i really want, then go back and do DVDS ect... but i do regularly come across competitions with prizes that i dont want (or too much effort) so i leave them to other people however i am finding myself re-reading the same competition several times as i havnt ticked it.(enter button)

I was thinking it maybe handy as you have a thanks button and enter button, how about a skip button? To save time

    What do you think?

(probably put this post in wrong place so i apologise in advance.)

I think this would be a great idea, especially for some I've gone into, decided I don't want to enter for whatever reason then later it gets bumped and I end up reading it again - a red X would be good so it would clearly show in the list as well as the green tick does.

Why don't you just click the enter button once you have read the comp and decided it's not for you? That why you won't bother opening it again.

I think we have to remember that these boards are not only used by compers, there are hundreds of other threads and the people that use those would probably object to yet another button being added for the compers sake, particularly when it's not really needed.

Because I wouldn't be able to distinguish from one I've entered to one I don't want to if everything is ticked...

If I've been out all day I scan through for ones that I like the sound of then go back through them later if I have time, the amount of times I've re-read something because the full details aren't in the title and it turns out to be a bit crap (ie like the ones that sound good but when you read the thread it's one that bombards you with lottery spam calls).

I can't see the problem if there is a green tick to having a red cross, it's hardly likely to offend the non compers.

I wouldn't find a skip button useful personally as I enter by newest comps posted so if I decide not to enter a comp then I come out of the thread and if I enter, I click the "Thanks" and "Enter" buttons. That way I know where the last comp I entered was and any comps inbetween two ticks which are left blank, I obviously don't want to enter.

I can see how it might be useful for some people though.

it took a long long time to get the 'enter' & 'thanks'
buttons added to the comps board & a lot of hard work from the team doing them right & getting them right after a lot of blips when they first did them for us,
before we didn't have them for a long time & had to rely on our own 'keeping' records, spreadsheets etc, which was time consuming/took a while to keep check on etc
so i for one am extremely grateful for what we have got & wouldn't want to rock the boat asking for more,
    just my humble opinion :o

I agree. What we have is good and it wasn't exactly hard before.
To be honest I am tempted to be a bit nasty and ask with people finding and sharing the comps, answers to any that need them, bumps when they open, buttons to tell you if you entered or not....what next? Enter them for you?
I never see these lottery spam comps either, in fact if anything the spammy ones are very well flagged and even banned. My only problem is 1st time posters who !!!! up the description or dates or dupe comps..and that's nothing to criticise as they are trying to help out which is nice of them.
You won't get a skip button. It's not needed.
