Please excuse me if these questions have been asked and replied to previously. I have spent about 30mins looking through posts and could not find the answers.

Just started comping about two weeks ago and find it extremely time consuming when logging comps entered (I use a spreadsheet). My question is: do other compers log each one entered and if so what do they use?

Also, when entering FB comps you generally have to tick "Like It". My question is when you have completed the entry form can you "Un Like It" and still have a valid entry?

Any more tips that would help would be most useful....Thanks ;)

Hi,I'm not sure re FB as I do not use it.
Re logging comps I'd ask yourself why do you need to keep a record?
If you win they will get in touch.
I just click "Entered" & "Thanks" & move on to the next.
In my early days, pre MSE membership.I kept a record but soon gave up.

Funnily enough, I won a small prize which came thru the system (I work as a postie so didn't need to go thru the Fee to Pay rigmarole) without any postage at all on it. I'd had a WEM for it previously, so match the email details up with the address label on the package and fired off an email saying this. They were very good in replying straightaway and said they'd franked it at their end so it must have come off in Sorting. They said to fire over my bank details and they'd refund the fee (postage plus a quid). I was a bit cagey about bank details and emails but decided what the hell, 20 mins later my bank account had increased by £3.20 :)

As Melvis says you can look at it before deciding whether you want to pay, I think we keep items for around a couple of weeks before sending them back (I just deliver things don't deal with the paperwork side so much!) so see what details you can glean off it. Of course a WEM/WPC beforehand helps massively!

Thanks for speedy reply weeowens. I log them so I know what websites I have had to register too and how much info I had to enter.

Hi,I suppose it's nice to know that info but I'd sacrifice more entries for it's loss.

Roboform Pro stores all my site log ins.
I use a comping name, comping email, comping postal address, comping mobile & comping DOB so the info issue is not a big concern for me :-)

Hope this is in the right place.

I received the ''we can't deliver your item because there is a fee to pay" card from RM today due to the sender not paying the full postage. Has anyone received this before and gone to pay the amount and found it to be a good win? I'm very unhappy to not only go to my local sorting office but to hand over £2.50 for something which may be junk (or could be a win). I may well just leave it to be returned to sender.

Did anyone have the same thing occur recently or have any advice? I'd appreciate it, thanks.

It happened to me once.I took a piccy of the PO ticket & emailed it to the promotor, along with a polite note.
They contacted me to apologise & gave me a second prize to the value of £45 as compensation :-)
  • 1)When ITV rules say 3 or 4 entires per a phone number, do they mean you enter 3 or four people in your household with one number or eveyone in household can each enter four times with diffent phone numbers?
    2) Can you enter ITV competitions with a mobile number?

Every phone number can be used however many times is shown in the terms. If you have three numbers you can enter 3 times the number allowed for example.Usually it will flag up if you enter too many times with the same phone number.

    Mobiles are fine.

I'll pm a BG for a move to discussion.

    Passed to Dalkirst.
