I Need Help Please

In my freezer i have (all approx)

400g diced onion
400g broccoli
200g peas
300g sweetcorn
4 meat pies
11 mini milks
5 turkey dinosaurs
30 chicken nuggets
10 fish fingers
300g chips

Fridge:
margarine
jam
5 kiwis
500g carrots
1/2 loaf of bread
1/2 pint milk
1/2 tub phile

Cupboard
4 packs custard
2 packs jelly
1 tub of custard
2kg rice
750g macaroni pasta
400g smart price pasta
2 packets white sauce
2 packets cheese sauce
1 tub of cheese sauce
1 smart price bolognaise jar sauce
1 old el paso chilli sauce
1 tuna pasta bake sauce
ketchup
some spices/herbs
marmite

We have totally run out of money and don't get paid until 25th May - well i have £2 but i need to use that on bread and milk.

We ( 2 adults and im pregnant) need to eat off what we have in the house.
I know there is plenty there to eat, we had been living off frozen junk but ive been cooking from scratch for about 8 months now so im glad that junk has to get eaten up instead of thrown away so it will be gone and wont be buying that stuff anymore. But I am used to using recipes because im no natural cook. I cant just throw things together so i need help in coming up with some meals please.

I am possibly being given 1kg potatoes on Saturday.

Breakfasts are fine, we have in cornflakes, weetabix & porridge.

But hubby takes a lunch to work (usually 2 sandwiches, 2 pieces of fruit and 2 biscuits) i am home so i just have whatever.

so lunch and dinners for 10 days!!

Do you have any suggestions for me please as i really truly need the help.

Id be ever so grateful.

I'm beginning to panic a little bit.

Thank you in advance.

the 25th is only 10 days away so not too bad even if it seems like ages

spuds will be a huge help, if possible buy the cheapest bread and smallest amount of milk you can get buy one and get a tin or 2 of beans with the lo money so you can make baked taties with beans.

    2 x pie and mash
3 x chicken nuggets/turkey dinosaurs with mash or chips
    fishfingers and chips/mash
mac and cheese using packet/tub of chees esauce
tom pasta using any of yoru jars, just cause they say chilli ect they still work on normal pasta
veg bake using all your frozen veg threw in together with a packet of sauce
tatie bake (same as above witha few spuds)
savory nice (rice with veg and soy sauce/ketchup, really just mix a few condiments, maybe even keep back a few nuggets and chop them up in it)

you could bulk it out with jelly and custard and bread and butter pudding?

Have you any eggs? Because they are a great source of protein and you can do so much with a box. Aldi do 10 large for 99p

I have had a look at your list and the best that I can come up with is:
    1. Macaroni Cheese you could add broccoli to it for iron and vitamins
    2. Meat pie and mash with broccoli
    3. Fish Fingers and chips
    4. Jacket potatoes
    5. Anna del a Conte's Marmite spaghetti
    Serves 2
    350-380g dried spaghetti
    50g unsalted butter
    1 tsp Marmite
freshly grated parmesan cheese, for serving
Cook the spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan and add the Marmite and 1 tablespoon of the pasta water. Mix thoroughly to dissolve, then pour over the drained spaghetti. Serve with plenty of grated parmesan cheese.
    6. Pea Risotto
    7. Rice with the jar of chilli or pasta sauce with veggies
precook rice for 10 minutes, add to a dish and mix in sweetcorn, broccoli, carrots, and some onion pour over the jar of sauce plus a jar of water. stir in gently and cook in the oven for about 20 - 25 minutes or until the rice is cooked
    8. As above but use a cheese sauce instead
    9. Chicken Nuggets with Mash and sweetcorn
    10. meat pies with roast potatoes veg and gravy
    11. Potato and veggie bake, layers of sliced potatoes, with onions and veggies covered with a cheese or white sauce, cover with foil and bake in the oven.
    12. HM Veggie soup
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

We don't have any eggs nor an aldi but its one of those things im glad you asked because ill remember to always try and keep some in for future.

Sorry i dont remember the username of the person who suggested dried milk but - i do have dried milk in but i cant use it, my husband has it in his tea and coffee etc and fresh milk is just used for cereals so it does help to some extent.

When you do get paid you could maybe have a cook day to make thinks up for the freezer.

1 chicken can do 2 dinners (eating the breasts) the legs wings etc can make either acouple of chicken risottos,a big chicken and veg pie,and soup.

If you boil the carcass you will also have your own stock for the risotto and soup.

You can easily get 6 meals from one chicken if not more with soup, and all healthy for you.

2 packs of mince can make loads of portions of chilli,spag-bol,cottage pie etc.

There are loads of really good threads and advice on here about recipes and how to budget.......and reduce tha budget.:T

I think i've seen an ad on tv where they make a pasta sauce with philly cheese so maybe some onion, peas, sweetcorn and broc mixed with the phil over pasta might be nice?

I like toast with philly and marmite (no marg needed)

years ago a friend used to have cornflake and ketchup sandwiches. not sure how strong your husbands stomach is tho!

I often make 'twinks hobnobs' from this board but not sure if you'll have all the ingredients in, basically marg, sugar, flour, oats, golden syrup, bicarb to make biscuits or flapjacks - you might have to get inventive with the flavouring or beg some dried fruit or syrup from someone
