Scammed by Simply Electronics ??

Anyone who thinks that they may have been scammed by simply electronics is advised to email

I did and received back

They have, however had some service issues and we are helping them with these. They have also completely complied with our terms and conditions, which include a fast response and resolution to any cases we report to them and adherence to UK consumer laws. I am sure you are also aware that online forums and so called reviewsites, through their lack of authentication, enable abuse and fraud and carry substantial quantities of fake reviews in the case of SimplyElectronics we have already traced some such examples to rogue competitors. As a customer of Simply Electronics, then the most important thing isto help you resolve any issues you have - so we will contact SimplyElectronics on your behalf to ensure you firstly receive confirmation of your order and then secondly of course receive your order and are happy with it. As you have provided your order number etc we currently have everything we need and will be in touch when we have further news."

Hence the more complaints they receive - should help....

Have you been scammed? I bought a digital camera from them once and it arrived quickly enough. My only concern was that it was a European model, not UK, so it didn't have a manufacturer's UK warranty.

Fingers crossed no - They have agreed to refund my money (in full ?)
Due to an inability to deliver goods - ordered from their website on Monday last week (when they supposedly had one in stock - and since then, their number in stock have increased to 6)
So I would recommend that before anyone plans a purchase on line from S E - They look at their options extremely carefully......

I think they use a foreign supplier so it sounds like their stock level isn't very "live".

One alternative is Pixmania, who also sell cheap european versions but at least are part of the DSG group. They sold me a Harmony remote with a european plug and a UK adapter that doesn't fit it, then failed to respond to my emails, so I don't use them now.

Kwikchex are a UK based company who it appears are a great help to anyone who thinks that they have been scammed in any purchase ...(from one of Kwikchex members and Simply Electronics just happens to be a member.....)

I don't give a fig for sites such as these - as far as I am concerned "KWIKCHEX" are doing an excellent job - acting as the middle man in my dispute with simplyelectronics - contacting the company for me to get a full refund for me .......

Anyway - I fail to see what a "travel agent" is doing - getting involved in technical matters - surely "tripadvisor" should restrict it's comments to Ayia Napa and similar ?
"tripadvisor" obviously has an axe to grind - if you read the full article.......
